'Yall Rock
Hi Everybody. I thought I'd start today off in a way that makes clear that I have three attributes everyone should know about. First, I care. I care about this business and I care about our customers. Your Wish List problems are my Wish List problems. Your cracked "Dude, Where's My Car?" is my cracked "Dude, Where's My Car?". Second, Jeraden and Themllnium are correct: I rock. 'Nuff said about that second attribute. The third is perhaps the most important of all, the synergistic result: I care to rock.
Now, if you don't care to rock like I care to rock, you got no business in this forum. So, without further ado, let's get ready to rock, rockers...........

HepDude,
Disnigenuous indeed. You make a good point about the problems of having limited stock in a given location; however, the good point that I was trying to make is that it's better than having limited stock in all locations (or in a singular location). East Coast people may be missing something, but the West Coast people are perfectly content. Thus there is a frustration factor of 50 as opposed to 100.
Now, if we had unlimited resources, it would be easy to stock-up on every title available. Unfortunately this is not possible. We are dealing with depth and breadth (as we have discussed on many, many occasions) and the simple fact is that the DVD selection available isn't getting any smaller.

Once that "Begotten" goes to Jee it will belong to NY inventory but if anything happens to it, well, see what HepDude says about it.![Big Grin](/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The "Twilight Zone" is one of these titles that are, in my mind at least, a pain. Image Entertainment releases them (along with a zillion other things), we preorder them, and they never show-up on their street date. Sooner or later we get tired of carrying them on a backorder list and so we drop them and, according to purchasing, forget about them. I'll tell them to check into it.
BTW- Jee hasn't (as far as I know) contacted Customer Service about "Begotten." If I don't hear from Jee by Wednesday I will perform the transfer without the transaction.

It is, right now, 4:49pm PST. Not that I ever leave my post at a reasonable hour; but I do have a lot to tend to before I take-off today. This being the case I offer you this: Your suggestions are well received. I appreciate them all and hopefully we will be able to implement them in one way or another. Reservations are still on hold but I did hear murmurs about the topic the other day. I am in agreement that many of your suggestions, if implemented correctly, would beat the pants off of any kind of competition. And finally, MGM will be releasing a SE of Terminator on August 21 with all the standard SE attributes: James Cameron interviews and commentary, deleted scenes, hologram box, free monkey, computer wallpaper, puffins, sushi coupons, dinner with Schwartzenegger, &c, &c. We pretty much ran-out of our original inventory and the original DVD is no longer available. Sorry and coming soon.

Thanks for taking the time for explanation. The opening paragraph of today's post is true: I tend to get feisty and defensive (ask HepDude) about Rentmydvd.com's attributes and shortcomings alike. The simple fact of top 20 renting is that 100% availability in the first or second week (especially when going through the mail) is an unprofitable and illogical way to do business. "Legend of Drunken Master"- at this point- truly is just bad, bad luck concering incoming and outgoing copies and your returns; I still apologize for it's unavailability but I thought you should know. You would know best about your Saturday's Wish List, so I apologize for that, too.
One thing of note that everyone should know is that "Unbreakable" is, well, sorry for this, but it is breakable. In a bad way. We've lost about 1/4 of our original inventory already and, of course, breakage means reshipments and other delays. We had a similar problem with "Traffic" and before that was "Nurse Betty" and "The Emperor's New Groove." Without going too far into this matter (and without dropping names of duplication companies)- the bottom line is that not all DVDs are created equal. We can order more stock of these and hopefully "Unbreakable" will be as small of a problem as some of the others, but this title may be more problematic- we'll see. I just want you to know that we still don't want anyone to have to wait three weeks to see a movie. We are aware of our growth and of our ability to make sure we can meet our customers' demand. But do keep us posted on how well we're doing. Lots of numbers on a piece of paper don't always jive with that-which-happens-in-PA.

Have a good weekend, everybody. And keep on rockin.

Well here's a good one for you to take a level above and beyond anyone else on the net...
Lot's of people out here have either region-free or multi-region equipment... and folks that are visiting this side of the pond for extended stays that brought their equipment with then,,, I know that there are several B&M places that do what I'm about to suggest.. so take the ball and run with it..
Start stocking Region-2 titles. I can give you a list of a couple of dozen great BritComs/BritDrams that are currently unavaliable in this country...
