Just curious, for those of you who got your mispriced AbFab set honored from DeepDiscountDVD, are you backordered?

I just got an updated e-mail saying it's backordered due to demand should be available in the next 21 days

Just seeing if anyone may have been charged or shipped for the set in time for next week's street.

I am back ordered, too. They're probably hoping we'll get frustrated and cancel the order so they won't have to sell the set for the "incorrect" price, even after promising they would honor the original price. I won't be ordering from DEEP DISCOUNT DVD again. I hope they go into "dot com oblivion". Good riddens!

Same here, sounds like BS to me.

I jumped on that order as soon as it was posted.

I think you mean "riddance".

Though I was not shocked when I got the email, I too am in backorder limbo.

The true test will be to see if it shows up in stock on the release date. With such advance notice that they'd taken massive orders for this title, you'd think they'd have been able to get more from the distributor in time for the release date (almost a month in advance?).

I'm still cautiously optimistic....

I've gotten many emails from them like this, yet the DVDs have always shipped much sooner.

Since AbFab is not due to be released until 3/13, wouldn't you think it's better to wait until then to see if it's truely backordered? I believe their system lists all items backordered regardless of whether it's out of stock vs. a preorder.

Ok... thought you should seen this. I guess my cautious optimism means something to the folks at DDD:

We noticed your recent post on DVDtalk. We just want to reassure you that you WILL receive your order for Ab Fab at the price that we quoted $48 plus a 10% discount for a total of $43.20. We are expecting the sets to come in on 3/13 and will be shipped shortly there after. You should receive your set in 5-10 days after 3/13. If you have any questions please feel free to call or e-mail us.

WOW! I've never experienced THIS before! I didn't really slam them or anything, just wanted to express my frustration (I REALLY want this set that badly!). Thanks folks at DeepDiscountDVD for assuaging my concerns! You da bomb!!!!

When was that posted? Before or after all of the "your order has been placed on backorder" emails came out?

Well, I didn't order it at the reduced price, but I still want it badly. Any ideas if it is shipping? Comes out today.

Just called DDD customer service and they said that the sets should be going out today or tomorrow. She said that they aren't anticipating any holdups.

My copy from Amazon didn't ship until late last night (the day after street date) and Empire says it's "On Order", so there might be a legitimate shortage of supply out there.

I called and they pretty much confirmed the story, only without an estimate. They aren't sure what the hold-up is but they don't have it yet for whatever reason.

Gah!

I called yesterday and got the same line as Buskerdog.

BUT I checked my AMEX statement this morning and they charged my card yesterday (3/15 - for the proper $43 and change)... so I gonna keep and EVEN closer eye on this.

Just checked my statement as well, and I was charged the correct amount also. In my experience, that means the product has shipped from DDD, so it sounds good!

BTW, I have not seen AbFab at any of the B&M stores that I have visited in the past few days, so I'm not sure that there is a wide availability yet.

Once more, DDD comes through!

I haven't had time to check my records, but I believe I was charged yesterday also. Maybe there was unexpected demand, like with North by Northwest which seemed (at least to me) initially unavailable on release...

My set finally arrived today... all is well.

Even after all the hoops, thanks DDD.

Got my set today (at the misprice) - two thumbs up for Deep Discount DVD for standing behind their prices. I will definitely order from them again.

What's the packaging like? I know it's not three keepcases. Is it like the "Fight Club" discs?

Pretty much.

Overall the whole package is not too much bigger than two regular snapper cases. A glossy, yet somewhat thin cardboard sleeve with a disc 'binder' like Fight Club but with an extra fold-out on each side. No booklet.

Got mine yesterday as well. Nice case, great transfer, the outakes are the best part. I have ordered several times from DeepDiscountDVD, and will certainly continue to.
