Kicking myself that I didn't see this. What are the chances it'll still be up when I get home in 2.5 hours?

Zero percent I'm afraid. It ended at midnight.

But if it makes you feel better, I missed it too. Tried to load iTunes multiple times yesterday and it never worked.

And it was midnight Eastern time too, not Apple (California) time. The bundles are still live, but for $50. Oh well, I hate having my movies split across multiple services anyway.

Re: iTunes - 10 Movie Bundles for $9.99 (9/12 only)

On 9/12 around 11:50pm Eastern I attempted to buy the Sony bundle, but it wouldn't let me. Gave some weird error, I tried a few different times. Finally gave up. The next day I get an email from Apple telling me they were sorry for the trouble I was having and they gave me a free $9.99 credit. Thought it was nice of them.

iTunes - 10 Movies for $9.99

iTunes has a 10 Movie Bundle from Miramax for $9.99

Clerks
Crash
Gangs of New York
Glengary Glen Ross
Memento
Mud
Cedar House Rules
Shakespeare in Love
Swingers
Winters bone

Even if you already own these movies at Vudu, it's worth picking up for the iTunes Extras. They all have extra features and a few have audio commentary tracks.

Re: iTunes - 10 Movies for $9.99

Thank you. I have Clerks on Vudu, but I'm missing the rest. This is a good price, and I have an iTunes gift card to use up.

re: iTunes Movies/TV - Bargains, Deals, Freebies

You can now upgrade HD movies to 4K on iTunes. When you Gift the movie to yourself, it'll upgrade when you redeem the code. I tried it on Office Space and it worked. Remember that only MA-eligible movies will port to the other services.

If you already own the HD version, and you want to upgrade to the 4K version.

Previously, you couldn't do this at iTunes. If you owned the HD version, you were stuck with it and couldn't buy the 4K version. But now you can "Gift" it to yourself and it'll redeem for the 4K version.

re: iTunes Movies/TV - Bargains, Deals, Freebies

Just to add, the "gift yourself the 4k" was always (for a long time anyway) available to do, but it never ported the 4k rights to other MA providers, just HD ported I think. You would only get 4k on iTunes. So, everything above the "As of 4/17/20...".

Vudu is the easiest to upgrade from HD to UHD, just click the drop down.
FandangoNow, there is an unlink MA trick (only for MA titles), and MS you can upgrade if you signout. (all of these instructions are also on the digitalmovieresources site under the How to Upgrade section).

I'm feeling a little stupid about this gifting yourself in order to upgrade to HD or 4K. Does it mean that it won't charge your card even though it requires a method of payment? or am I buying it twice to upgrade?

If you have the HD version, you're buying it again to get the 4K version.

The iTunes Thread

I didn't see a thread for the discussion of iTunes deals or the particulars of specific iTunes titles.

I bought the blue-banner Babylon 5 Complete Series a little while ago. While the episodes have HD tags when I look at the series in the TV app, the file sizes given in the Get Info popup demonstrate they are SD. About 600MB for a 44 minute episode, if were HD it would be more like 1.5 GB. They look SD too, especially the pilot. The Series page doesn't have an HD tag though.

On the other hand, if I search for Babylon 5 Complete Series the only version that comes up has a brown-banner. It has HD tags on the series page, but I can't buy it or send it as a gift. iTunes acts as if I already own it. Does anybody know what's happening here with the blue/brown banners and HD?

When I search in iTunes on Windows the only "complete" I see is the Remastered version
Each individual season has a different color banner, and each says "remastered" on the banner.

I don't own it, but looking at it in iTunes on Windows, it shows S1 Episode 1 - 1.53GB 720p; 668MB SD.
There's one review that mentioned he previously bought the individual seasons then bought the remastered. At first it kept playing the old version, but they say after stopping it and starting back up again, eventually the HD version started playing.
There's a few others mentioning poor quality, but I'm not sure when the remasted came out, they might be reviews on the original SD versions?
Did you previously own the older version, then bought the Remastered version?

Re: The iTunes Thread

Thought I’d resurrect this. I really thought this would be one of the bigger threads as they carry a ton of sales and all sorts of exclusives.

Right now Star Trek: The Next Generation Complete Series is on sale for $29.99. That has to be the lowest amount ever.

Reservoir Dogs has been $4.99 this week. They loaded the 4K/DV version yesterday and the price was still $4.99.

Gorgeous in 4K.
