the ad runs then the screen goes black until I restart the stream

I get a freeze (rotating loading circle) on my Roku Streaming Stick+ often when it goes to that YouTube TV screen saver thing during ads. Basically the local ads that aren't being fed in by service. It usually gives me an HDCP 2.2 error too when it does it.

Interesting. Definitely bug Google until they respond. I haven't run into any such issues but that'd drive me nuts.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Gotta work today and tv at work isn't working. Solution? Get YouTube tv to watch the game on my phone and cancel tomorrow before the 5-day free trial ends.

But you know what? I've kinda been enjoying it. I also installed it on my tv. I might decide to keep it.

Outside of a few gripes like no 5.1 DD sound, it truly is an awesome product. I am glad I ditched DTV for it.

Yeah, I'll keep it for at least a few more price hikes. I have no real issues with it, my favorite of the streaming cable services.

I just switched last week after Sling hiked their subscription cost. Have been enjoying it. Unlimited DVR is awesome!

I'm digging watching YoutubeTV on my Fire Stick 4k. You can push the Alexa button and tell it to FF/Rew any amount of seconds/minutes that you want.

I wish Roku had that feature.

You can pick up a Fire Stick 4k for $25.

amazon-fire-tv-stick-4k-25-ac

The Fire Stick also controls the volume on my AVR whereas the Roku does not.

Note: I thought I bought a Roku Stick+ but apparently I have the 3800R. Maybe the Stick+ controls the AVR volume...I don't know.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Starting in March, you won't be able to sign up for YouTube TV via the Apple store. Apple apparently takes a 30% cut of the sales.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

To make it funnier you already can't sign up for it via the app, come March they're cancelling any accounts that were signed up that way.

Sweet. But shit. Bought a bunch of cheap HBO cards at BB at Christmas. Gonna have to burn those off before I go through YouTube TV.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Shit this sucks. Losing Dbacks and Suns is gonna suck ass

Our goal with YouTube TV is to offer you the content you love, delivered the way you want.To make this happen, we need to enter into deals with our partners. Unfortunately, we have been unable to reach an agreement with Sinclair to continue to carry the FOX Regional Sports Networks and YES Network.Starting February 29, 2020, you will no longer be able to watch live, on demand, or recorded content from your local FOX Regional Sports Network or YES Network. Please know that we do not take this decision lightly. We value your membership and will continue to strive to build the best streaming experience possible.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Not surprised. Sling also dropped the FOX Sports RSNs months ago.

Apparently they are just too expensive and would likely just drive up the prices. That's why DirecTV charges the BS RSN fee.

I hope for your sake and others that they do come to a deal.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

In reality, the prices that Sling, YTTV were simply not sustainable if you also want to cater to sports fans.

Hope here is everyone ditches them, and Sinclair has to come back to the table to renegotiate

Sinclair is the worst, so maybe as an add-on.

RSNs cannot be locked as an add-on for local markets. They lose money. It only works that way if you want to watch out of market content. But even then you need to subscribe to the NBA, NHL or MLB packages.

It's one or the other, you either take them or you don't.

YTTV also doesn't carry The Marquee Network, which is the new Cubs home. They can't lock that network in a higher tier and try to force people in Chicago to cough up say $5 per month extra to watch it. You lose money and people will drop the channel when Cubs season is over. The sports networks want their channels to be accessible year-round for those local markets.
