Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

This reminds me... There's a new Christian Petzold film available on The Criterion Channel, Afire.

I've enjoyed his other work, and look forward to seeing this one.

Thank you for sharing this! Was looking this morning at possibly subscribing for a year and this sealed the deal.

Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

I signed up for the deal. If I watch at least a few movies a month, it will be worth it. There are some Criterion movies that I wasn't really keen on buying the disc, but wanted to watch. It's about $6.25/month. About 1/4 the price of a Criterion 4K disc on sale.

Even at full price, the Criterion Channel is well worth it for anyone that enjoys Criterion content IMO. I've actually saved myself money since being a subscriber, because previously I blind-bought so many Criterion editions on disc that I watched once and enjoyed well enough, but didn't really need to own. And there's so much other good temporal content on The Criterion Channel beyond just movies they've released on disc. It's easily the streaming service I watch the most.

Yeah, it's an amazing streaming service with an incredible selection of movies, I assume I don't qualify for new subscriber discounts, so $100 a year is fine for me, compared to the dreck that Netflix pushes to their service for double the price, Criterion is a steal.

Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

I try a new streaming service the beginning of each year (cancelling whichever one from the prior year I watched the least). I decided on Criterion this year and I LOVE it. I'm probably going to be a permanent subscriber.

well, it's in this category though, with movies like Barb Wire and Gigli. But, yeah, it's pretty funny for them to host these movies

I’m really obsessed with this service now. I got it to help me complete my Toho monster film checklist, but I’m currently ripping through the leaving at the end of March section.

I like that there are a bunch of movies with the bonus content from the discs included like the commentary and hour long making of segments. I recently watched the Incredible Shrinking Man, then watched a decent amount again with the commentary, then watched a couple long bonus segments.
