Yes. I received it as well.

They also mentioned fixing a number of things. I do not see any difference, however.

I'm really enjoying the service, regardless of the small issues.

Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

I decided I had better manually track what I've watched.

I'm up to 15, so far, including the preview weeks.

(Side note: I tried to spoilerize this list, but doing so removes the hyperlinks)

Chungking Express
Saturday Night and Sunday Morning
Stalker
To Sleep with Anger
Wanda
Detour
Baron Prásil
Skunk
La promesse
My Name Is Julia Ross
Au hasard Balthazar
Mon Oncle
2 or 3 things I know about Her
The Burglar
Murder by Contract

I'm just adding them to a draft email when I watch one. That's what I meant by 'manually' tracking them.

It's a PITA, but I figure it's worth it to me.

I fully expect they have this information, and that it will be available, at some point.

I just add titles to 'My List' after I watch them to track what I've watched. Only a couple so far - need to find more time!

I watched this last night because of these posts. Excellent film, and way shorter than I was expecting (68 minutes, if I recall correctly).

As far as I know, Here:

^where you'll find the best Noir recommendations (For those who want more)

I'm currently on Day 5 of my free trial. Two big stand-outs for me have been Manila in the Claws of The Light and Ray's The Stranger. We'll see if I decide to hold on to this.

Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

It looks like they recently added Anna Biller's Viva and The Love Witch. It's been a while since I've seen Viva. It would be cool if Criterion put a disc out for this. I'm guessing it is just a streaming license they got though. I absolutely loved The Love Witch when I saw it a few years back.

That Split Screen show they added looks cool too.

I am going to try and get some time to check out those Joanna Hogg films too.

Yeah, Love Witch got added there. I think it also played or will play in 35mm at the New Beverly out here. It's getting a bit of a resurgence.

Yup, that was not this past weekend, but the weekend before. I was out there that weekend and wanted to go, but it was a midnight screening and I was burnt out.

edit: it looks like they’re doing it again this weekend too.

If anyone wants to own The Love Witch, it's currently on sale for $4.99 (HD) at Amazon Video and iTunes. The iTunes version includes some extra features.

Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

I just noticed that the Hedwig and Angry Inch on the Criterion Channel is the actual Blu-ray edition that will release at the end of the month, which includes the brand new special features, so if you're interested, you can watch all of the stuff now.

Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

I've had a lot of other stuff to watch, for the past while, but these are the latest Criterion Channel watches, for me:

A Day’s Pleasure – Chaplin short
Smithereens
Nightfall
Human Desire - 1954 - Fritz Lang
Pushover - 1954 - Richard Quine
The Lineup - 1958 - Don Siegel
Red Desert (Il Deserto rosso) - Michelangelo Antonioni
A Taste of Honey - 1961 - Tony Richardson

A Taste of Honey was the standout amongst this batch. I hadn't seen it before. Rita Tushingham and Murray Melvin were both excellent.

Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

So I'm currently on a trial for The Criterion Channel and have gone through a little bit of it in the last week.

And then I discovered the service has the 100 Years of Olympic Films, which is currently selling for about $200 on Amazon for the BD set.

https://www.amazon.com/Years-Olympic-Criterion-Collection-Blu-ray/dp/B074JRWX9V/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3JQZMB4JTHZN5&keywords=100+years+of+olympic+films+1912-2012&qid=1562949361&s=gateway&sprefix=100+years+of+oly%2Caps%2C190&sr=8-1 https://www.amazon.com/Years-Olympic-Criterion-Collection-Blu-ray/dp/B074JRWX9V/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3JQZMB4JTHZN5&keywords=100+years+of+olympic+films+1912-2012&qid=1562949361&s=gateway&sprefix=100+years+of+oly%2Caps%2C190&sr=8-1

That's awesome. I'm a big Olympics fan and I would love to watch this collection here. So damn, big decision if I want to keep this for a few months and try to watch as many of these films as possible. The movies are really really long though. Some range from about 1 hour to as high as 4 1/2 hours. So this is easily a few months or more of viewing.

Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

^That's one of the group of films that's not available to stream, in Canada.

Not that I'm really interested in it, but it gets a lot of praise, so I would have a look.

Regardless of some regional limitations, I still think the service is well worth it.

My main beef is still the really shitty browser playback interface. Aside from a lack of navigation features, it's also very clunky.

They've got the "Criterion Edition" of Man Who Fell to Earth, with all of the supplements on the OOP BD.

I wonder if it’s going to be re-released again?
