Re: NFL + streaming service may be in the works

The internal demo launch is actually on Thursday. If I learn of anything, I'll drop a post here. I won't be in the office for it, but if they post an update via email that isn't "Top secret" I'll let you all know.

This is the NFL. They have a product that people can't get enough of. It won't flop.

Let's see about that. This would have been an easier sell if it were part of another bundled service.

Re: NFL + streaming service may be in the works

Is NFL Game Pass still going to be around for this upcoming season.

I've been paying monthly for it(I had thought I cancelled months ago).

Re: NFL + streaming service may be in the works

No news today from the office about NFL plus. I still find it hard to believe it's launching Monday with zero promotion and no details on what devices will support it.

I think Game Pass is probably dead or will merge with NFL plus.

Game Pass is more expensive than this service so if it merges, that's a better deal for consumers. In other words, I doubt it.

Re: NFL + streaming service may be in the works

Game Pass is currently shutdown so they can work on improvements for the upcoming season.

That's bullshit since I have already paid for this month and for what so they can shut it down.
Does the NFL think that nobody gives 2 poops about watching replays in July but then a month later it's totally different?

If you get it on a yearly basis (August through the following July) they also get hosed by the NFL for shutting down early.

One of my bosses at NFL explains the app from Good Morning Football this morning.

As of right now, I don't plan on subscribing to this. I'll see if work offers it to us for free. They did give us free Game Pass subscriptions every season.

Yeah, the Raiders gave us Season Ticket holders Game Pass for free every year, so I hope they give us this now instead.

Re: NFL + streaming service may be in the works

It looks like I will stay with the same price at 9.99 for NFL + Premium.

It's supposed to automatically switch to the new service but I haven't checked my email lately.

It says ad-free NFL replays but over the last few years the editing(for the most part) has been horrible with some ads still included but were cutoff just as they being shown(very bush league for a billion dollar corporation).

So this lets us stream the local games that we can get over the air for free anyway?

When the weather gets windy out here, the OTA reception is sketchy (some channels come in better than others. NBC is the worst). At least with streaming, it'll be fine no matter how bad the weather is. That, in itself is worth the expense. Plus being able to watch a game no matter where you're at.

One thing to note, the service does not let you stream live local regular season and postseason games on your TV. You can only watch those on phones and tablets.

One of the things I liked about YouTube TV was being able to watch a game at work without wifi. I assume I can cast it to my TV if I'm home.

So not good to watch the local team if your reception is shitty. Why can't we get a service that lets us stream an out of market team, for those of us that follow teams other than our locals?

Isn't that only for Directv subscribers, with few exceptions?

DirecTV has exclusively rights to all out of market games.

Otherwise the only other option is NFL Network Red Zone that hops around from the games.

Only if you have a kid in college (or live in certain apartments), this year. Next year it will be different.

Re: NFL + streaming service may be in the works

I got NFL Plus today for free from work. They sent out an email to all staff and gave us a coupon code to redeem. it was the $79.99 per year premium plan.

The catalog NFL documentary content is not great. They do have things like A Football Life, past seasons of Hard Knocks, America's Team. There is a lot missing. You're not going to find old classic games from 30-40 years ago. Also, probably a lot of NFL documentary content is super dated, so it's possible it's probably not worth posting on the app.

I'm going to wait and see how the service runs during the season.

Sure enough, they came through.

Looking forward to checking out the service.

BTW the link shows a price of $999.99 for the package 😂, but the coupon code they send drops the price to free. I think every season ticket holder in the NFL gets this deal, not just Raiders ones.
