Ex-'Idol' contestant struck, killed by car in NJ

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a 25-year-old former two-time "American Idol" contestant has been struck and killed by a car in a New Jersey shore town.

The Asbury Park Press reports that Alexis Cohen, of Allentown, Pa., was killed early Saturday in Seaside Heights.

Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutors Office says an autopsy indicated she suffered chest, head and abdominal injuries. Mohel says investigators are seeking more information about the collision.

Cohen auditioned in Philadelphia for the popular Fox singing competition in August 2007, and the episode was aired in January 2008. She tried out again during the show's eighth season.

A video of her angry rant after being rejected by judges went viral on the Internet.

I can understand posting this in the TV Section as most people that watch Idol, myself included, probably do remember this nutjob. But why put it in a 7-Year-Old thread asking if anyone on this forum was thinking of auditioning for the show?

While I do agree that for every bumped thread, somebody is mad you bumped it and for every new thread somebody is mad you didn't continue the discussion in some previous thread, but do you HONESTLY think one single member of this forum would have posted a link back to this old ass thread if you started a new thread on this woman's death?

Heard this on the radio today. I mean the death, not the 7 year thread bump.

I was in Seaside Height today too. Apparently the driver that struck her was eluding police. They didn't even know about her until people started calling 911. Tough break. She may have been nuts, but such a senseless death.
