I sit down and watch my news: and I see hypocrites.
The NAACP organization here in the town I live in wants a Martin Luther King Jr Holiday to be in place for our city...yet they protest the flying of the Rebel flag. (which is a symbol of the heritage of some people in this state: Just as MLKjr is).
I'm all for a MLKjr holiday for workers, but I don't see how this isn't any different from the Rebel Flag deal.
I am certainly in racist equals against organizations like the KKK and the NAACP (the black KKK)
Oh well, like I said a whole other thread and I don't really care if you think it is ignorant or not.

And btw, Strom Thurmond was once a segregationist, but changed political beliefs AND is probably one of the most memorable senators of all time. Respect him for that.

Which black shows would that be? The only black show I know of on a network is Bernie Mack and most of the charachters outside the family are white. UPN & WB are not networks in any real way.
Besides that, who said they were forced to do anything. How long has this show been on the air 7 or 8 years. Anybody black who cares what the color the actors are in this show have long since quit watching, and no bone thrown is going to bring them back.
I suppose I am one of the only black fans friends has these days. I have always found it to be funny and sweet and non political. I love these crazy kids like the white brothers and sisters I never had.
They really missed an opportunity to kill this whole idea back when the black girl moved into the building.
Could you imagine someone that georgeous living in the same building with Joey and him not working is butt off to get with her. She keeps turning him down because unbeknowest to him she is a bi-sexual coming off a bad break up with another female. He just thinks she may not like white guys and he keeps trying to convince her he is not white just Italian.

MLK is an American icon of the civil rights movement which has influenced countless groups and individuals outside of African-Americans. So much of the USA's identity is owed to that movement, whether you like it or not.
