John Doe - 4/25/03
Well well well, glad my suspicions were right.
Also glad that we got a bit more on the Phoenix storyline while sending Doe to telepathy class with a dash of telekinesis tossed in.
They'd better bring this show back next season, or the cliffhanger of the season finale would just plain suck otherwise.

Blah.
That's what I have to say about this Season Finale. [And I say this as someone who's watched it from the beginning..]
After seeing FOX's promo for tonite's ep during 24, I set off trying to figure out exactly whom Mr. Skullcap truly was..
I realized that the writers would want to make it an "Oh Sh*t!" moment, so it had to be someone in John's "Inner Circle". After that..I realized that it had to be someone that viewers/fans would actually care about being on the dark side. So that left out Stu aka Mr. CSI & Stella, the cute computer chick. Could Karen still be alive? Nah. How 'bout Mrs. Palmer? Nah. What about Rachel, his British honey [sorry, EX-honey]? Nah. Could Lenny Pesco be back? Nah.
That left Frank, Digger & Avery.
Tonight..when the credits started at the beginning, I noticed J.K. Simmons' name. Could Schillinger actually be the mystery man? Maybe. But would anyone truly care about him being a baddie? Nah. Turns out he played Yoda for this ep. Good to see him. If there's a second season, perhaps he'll be back.
So...we still had Frank, Digger & Avery. Now, it would be TOTALLY out of left field if it was Frank. Besides..he's supposed to be working on being a better father..when would he have the time to search for the Staff of Ra? Scratch him.
Now we're down to Avery & Digger.
With the little that we know about her, it didn't seem that likely that she'd be the one to do it either.. I mean, besides being Lieutenant and all, she has a turtle to take care of..
Whelp...and that leaves one...and that's who it was.
Which, of course, would explain Digger's sudden onslaught of knowledge..[Well, sudden thanks to the writers..]
Oh well. If it comes back next season, i'll be watching.. If not, no biggie. This wasn't a cliffhanger similar to Twin Peaks or ______________* where they had to do one more to tie up loose ends/resolve storylines..
* [Insert your own Series Finale where major characters were in jeopardy and plotlines were left dangling..

My guess:
I thought that it went a bit far with the everybody's a psychic thing. But other than that I loved the episode.

I've said from the beginning that you don't simply cast William Forsythe (Digger) in the buddy barkeep role, and as the season went on, Digger just had too many tricks up his sleeve not to be part of the mystery/conspiracy.

Woohoo! I won 10 bucks. As they were running down the tracks I told my friend $10 that's Digger and he took the bet. I figured it was either either going to be him or some big guest star and this show isn't big enough to get a huge guest star.
I thought it was good and a lot better then most of the stuff from the 2nd half of the season. I didn't even realize that was Theresa in the chair. I hope it comes back next year just so we can find out what he is.

It was a good episode with a surprise ending that left me shaking my head.
I hope it returns next season, it has some questions I would like to see answered!

I hope it returns to but the fact that were getting into sweeps and Fox is showing movies the rest of the way instead of this and Fastlane doesn't look good for the future. Also Fox is full of morons and they'll screw this up for sure.

I had also thought that the mystery dude might turn out to be Doe's twin, but that would have been a pain to film around on a continual basis.

possible bad news for John Doe:
Beckman also said that Fridays, where its current dramas "Fastlane" and "John Doe" both have struggled this season, remain a key focus for the network. "We are hoping to bring back one of those shows, because we would rather not have to have totally new programming on both Thursday and Friday nights." The growing sentiment is that "Fastlane," not "John Doe," is looking better and better for renewal as of late thanks to its strong showing in adults 18-49. ("Fastlane's" McG is also behind FOX's upcoming "The O.C.")

I hate when shows end a season with a cliffhanger and then get cancelled.

Give John Doe a different car to drive every other episode and put big breasted women with tight shirts and John Doe's rating would go through the roof!
I think that the reason their friday ratings are not great because, its a Friday! maybe if they put it on another day like monday or wednesday.
