Overall, a pretty mediocre episode.

Sean deals with a transgender who was butchered by a surgical hack, while re-evaluating his own position on trans-sexuality. He is also looking to spice up his sex life at home. He is having a bit of trouble, but give him an E for effort.

Sean's wife is back in college. She befriends a 26 year old student (Reza from 24, season 2) and they become study-buddies. She brings him home for a study session, but Sean had a nice candlelight dinner set up. So much for that plan!

Christian debates whether or not to join up with a competing doctor (Joey Slotnick of Boston Public and Alias), where everything looks to be flashy and fun. He lands a big contract with a porno production company. Eventually, this image begins to turn off some of the 'decent' clientele. He stands his moral ground thanks to Sean being an excellent role-model.

Matt attends a porno party with Christian (who is busy landing the plastic surgery contract.) In the meantime, Matt gets busy with lollipop girl. Later on, lollipop girl find out she got some kind of STD on the set of a porno shoot. Now Matt has to face his mom and tell her what he did.

Oh yeah, did anyone see the promo for next week? This is turning into a Boston Public alumni party. First Joey Slotnick, and looks like Lauren Davis is on next week!

I didn't notice Jessalyn Gilsig (Lauren Davis) in the teaser. Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, but I hadn't noticed Joey Slotnick would be guest starring until earlier today.

Guber could have played the old doctor, though.

It was a good episode. I find the whole plotline with Matt and Christian's relationship turning sour a bit unbelieveable.

I thought it was a good episode. The shower scene was hilarious. Does Sean do any cases for money anymore? I wonder how long before Reza and his wife have an affair.

Another great episode. This is fast becoming one of my favorite shows on television.

This show just keeps getting better and better. Just a tad too heavy on the melodrama this week, but overall an excellent episode that served to once again provide more depth for the characters.

Absolutely no 'up close and personal' shots of bloody operations this week. Could it be that the same gimmick that drew viewers in from the beginning, is now being toned down in order not to alienate other viewers who stumbled in later on? Some of that stuff was pretty graphic, like the ass implants. This time, I think all we see is a bloody cloth on the transgenders crotch area.

I was explaining what happened on the show last night to a friend (woman) at work over the phone today. She watches the show, too, but had missed most of the episode last night. I had to laugh about 3/4 of the way through at how goofy it felt to be discussing porn stars, transexuals, etc so matter of factly

Whoah! Where have I been?? I saw a review for this show recently and for some dumb reason, I thought it was just more reality TV. DUH! It was only until my co-worker was talking about it and I said "Do they show how the patient looks at the end of the episode or do you have to wait until the end of the season?" (because I thought the show was about one person getting plastic surgery and it showing them before, during and after). And my co-worker was like "Huh!? It's a drama. Like 'Six Feet Under' fool!" So I Tivo'd it and caught the show for the first time tonight. And I loved it! I really did get a slight "SFU" vibe throughout. How many episodes have I missed? And how many are scheduled to air? The show I caught was about the one the transexual.

Daytripper, that was the fourth episode so far. The pilot episode was 90 minutes.

I thought it was a good episode. Some funny lines:

Sean to Christian: "Erotic films are when you use a feather. Porn films are when you use the whole chicken."

Christian to Matt: "So what if your girlfriend turned out to be a vagitarian."

Christian to Merril: "Merril, you look like a Q-tip."

Christian to Matt: "I'm proud of you kid. You cheated your first STD. Way to go."

It was weird watching this episode, though. It was like I was looking back in time watching past TV shows that I used to watch.

-The sergeant dude from CHiPs as Dr. Marcus Grayson.
-Reza from 24 as Sean's wife's study buddy.
-Jesse, Andrea's husband from Beverly Hills 90210 as the car salesman.
-Joey Slotnick from Alias, Boston Public and The Single Guy as Dr. Merril Bobolit, the rival plastic surgeon. I don't know why, but I always like seeing Slotnick. He always makes me laugh.
-The chick who was Bailey's sugar mama on Party of Five as Sean's wife's friend and professor.

I think that's everybody.

The fluffer was pretty hot, too.

I wish I had an uncle like Christian to take me to porno parties and to let me drive a Lamborghini. Christian's gotta be the best uncle ever.

I guess I'm wrong about Christian being Matt's real father since Christian told Sean's wife that "he's like a son to me."

Looking forward to seeing Jessalyn Gilsig next week. I miss her on Boston Public.

I was waiting for Matt to get behind the wheel and then crunch the gears of that $250,000 car because he doesn't know how to drive a manual transmission. That would have been hysterical.

Unless he doesn't know, and she's been hiding it from him.

Yeah, I'm still holding out hope that I'm right. I mean, he spends so much time with the kid and Matt looks more like Christian than Sean. Plus, we know that Christian and Sean's wife have some sort of history (although it might not be physical). It just seems convenient for the writers to pop that on us some time in the future.

After seeing this last episode it seems like the writers took a que from Lucas concerning foreshadowing. It is like, who is this mysterious Darth Sidious? I feel that they are not hinting, but leading us by the nose w/o blinders to the fact that Matt is Christians.

I've thought Matt was Christian's son from the very get-go of the pilot episode. I didn't think the writers were all that subtle about it in the next 2-3 episodes either.

But Christian comes across as the horny uncle from hell in many of their "bonding" activities.
