As for believability, 24 is modeled on the style of old movie serials and it isn't supposed to be believable. Half the fun of the show is seeing how much trouble Kim can get into (and it took 6 hours this season!) and how Jack can suffer serious injuries and bounce back 100% within minutes.

I agree with Damfino. I know that this series is not about reality. It passed that bridge a long time ago. I still find it interesting to see what is going to happen next. I'm enjoying the season just fine.

I'm done with this show. You can't really top blowing up a nuke like they did last season, for me the virus storyline lacks any real sense of urgency, and ultimately, it's all a little too much "been there, done that" with the twists and wacky conspiracies, etc. It might be the kind of show that has a finite shelf life rather than something they can get mileage out of for endless seasons IMHO.

To me it seems as if Chase's character is being developed as a pseudo replacement for Jack. You like him, but he is willing to think and act outside the box to get things done just like Jack.
This could be for replacing Kiefer at some point, or giving him his own show on one of their proposed straight to DVD series. Just a thought.

Better yet, Gael should capture Michelle too, and make both Michelle and Kim strip, and then make them kiss. All for necessary plot development, of course.

Actually, Michelle very well could be the next hostage.

I thought it was funny that it only took Jack about 5-10 minutes tops to drive to the prison, but after 20 minutes in a helicopter he is still in a "rural" area over Los Angeles.

Have to agree with people who say that this season is going down.
Really sucks....always the same, always Deja Vu's
What's up with the shit to need 20 minutes to figure the frequency of the chopper just to be 10 seconds to late........which was oh so surprising........
The tension is gone, just leaves me to hope that the Bauer's are going to be annihilated this season for bringing some twists and changes back into 24.
I really loved the twists in season one where mostly never happened what I expected.......right now it's always the same, standard hollywood BS.

Quapil, have to agree that it's getting a little too formulaic for my liking. Small red herring followed by conspiracy.
Still, it's one of the more entertaining formulaic shows around...

I think after 2 full seasons of the current formula, it's difficult for them to find ways to maintain the "tension" in any way that doesn't feel silly.
Could somebody please bitch-slap Chloe?

I just think they are copying WAY too much from previous seasons. It's like the writers don't even want to attempt to be original.
We saw the jail break in season 1.
Palmer's situations seem straight out of both seasons.
We saw the possibility and follow through of Jack being shot down last season.
We've seen a mole in CTU.
We've seen Kim in too many dire situations.

A while ago I read that they're trying to put the best parts of Season 1 and Season 2 into the third Season.
Seems like they're doing exactly this and nothing else......they should've called it the 24 Remix Season

Quapil's post reminded me of earlier discussions regarding questions about seasons one's storyline that were really never answered. Of course, there's season two's cliffhanger that has not been addressed thoroughly. Now during this episode—and on more than one occasion—they conveniently remind us that apprehending Salazar is of utmost importance since he has ties to terrorist groups. Is it at all possible that the "bad guys" from both prior seasons are still lingering in the background? Was the true target of those seasons Senator/President Palmer and is he still?
Anyway, back to the current timeline—I'm still having trouble believing that the Salazars masterminded a plan where they used a teenage boy as a decoy. With the number of possibilities for a carrier, how did they know that CTU would properly identify Kyle Singer. If there's another carrier, who's monitoring his/her movements? Also, how did they know that Ramon would be released (directly/indirectly) by the time Singer was taken into custody (which I'm sure they should have anticipated)?
