CBS "announces/leaks" show for Fall 2004 - CSI:NY

Bruckheimer TV is at it again!

Here in San Antonio on Mix 96.1, we get the Mike Evan's report at 7:10 AM, and this morning he talked about how CBS already has a slot in their line up for Fall for another CSI show, this one taking place in NY. He didn't specify New York City, just NY.

I, for one, consider Without a Trace to be CSI: NY... oh well.

No surprises there.

Casting should be interesting.

Wonder if they'll send H and Grissom to a convention in NY to meet the new folks. Like the way they introduced Miami

You can expect a 4th Law & Order on NBC as well - focusing on criminal defense.

CSI NY? Give me a break. What the hell is CBS trying to do? They are gonna make people tired of CSI.

I thought William Petersen hated the whole idea of doing CSI: Miami?

I can see H heading to NY, but doubt we would see many from Vegas.

It seems like the plan is to roll out a new version every 2 years. At least NY (presumably NY City) has a personality. I always thought part of what made Vega so good (aside from the cast) was that the city itself was like another character and they used the city very well. The city of Miami doesn't have that same character to it, and it's never felt like they used the city itself.

Bruckheimer should make a gritty comedy/drama w/ a CSI team that lacks manpower and funds. He could call it...CSI: East St. Louis.

There are already enough shows set in New York, particularly law enforcement shows, find a new locale already.

Boy how exciting. we've never had a cop show in New York before.

That was one of theings that made the original so cool was the use of Las Vegas as a setting for a crime show. It opened up a lot more story-teling possibilities.

They really ought to use a city that is not so over-used. How about CSI: Detroit?

I agree with those who say NY is overplayed, but then look at boomtown and homicide life on the street LA shows canned

NY apparently sells.

Eventually it'll get to the point of:
CSI: The OC
CSI: 90210

I think they should do a C.S.I.: Padukah.

think of the possibilities:

we could have a crack team of csi's being led by a Barney Fife type character. the 1st story could be about solving the mystery of cow-tipping.

How about CSI: Sheboigan? Starring "Weird Al" Yankovic, since they employ every other actor on the other incarnations of the show.

Or CSI: Walla Walla, perhaps? No...I got it. CSI: Butte!

This is just getting ridiculous.

Yes he did (and still does). He didn't go to Miami on the crossover show, Cathrine and Nick did, IIRC.

I think doing another CSI is probably a no-brainer, though NY isn't where I'd place it.

Am I the only one that thinks there are real cast problems in "Miami"? Besides H, nobody else seems even remotely interesting to me. Maybe it's just me, though...

I was hoping for CSI: Twin Peaks.

ANOTHER cop show in NY? Seriously speaking, I was really hoping for Seattle or New Orleans.

The Shield
So I wonder what kind of show will be doing this next. Sitcoms? I guess we could assume Joey Tribiani's spinoff will be Friends: LA

wouldn't that be Friend: LA since it's only one of them?

look at the lasting appeal of NYPD: Blue. Going on how many years? It is over 10. Probably the second longest running drama on tv next to Law & Order(does that take place in NY?).

I mainly watch Miami only because David Caruso is such a laughingly bad actor and he delivers his lines with such grandiose drama, that the show has become an unintentional comedy. Besides him, I don't think the rest of the cast is that bad, other than the coroner who always lovingly coos to her autopsy patients: "Baby, you didn't mean to get shot, did you?"

Homicide took place in Baltimore

This will probably speed up the exit of Peterson on the original. He said over the summer he only saw himself doing it for a few more years and with his dislike of the Miami spinoff I'm sure this won't go over well.
