Since this was a Joss Whedon directed episode, I feel the need to chime in as I am a fan of Buffy/Angel/Firefly

Please note, this is obviously mocking the thread we had last year.

Wait...would they other one be the vampire episode from last season?
You know, that was also my favorite episode too!

Edit: I just found out that was directed by Joss Whedon too! What are the odds?!?

I think I mainly laughed at Dwigt spraying in the can and cutting his pecker on the lip of the can. Other than that, this episode was a bit flat to me, even with Whedon at the directorial helm. I just think the writing wasn't funny enough.

All the Dwigt and eyes stuff cracked me up.

"I will stab the security guard in the eye with the jumbo chalk."

"Noooo. No, you won't do that. Nope."

"I'm losing control of my bladder!"

The Finer Things Club was very good, too!

Definitely one of those episodes that improves with repeat viewing.

Someone should probably just start an entire separate thread about this Joss Whedon (?) fellow. I would hate for him not to get his proper due attention here on the DVD Talk forum.

Just a thought...

Re: The Finer Things Club

Wouldn't it have made more sense for Toby to be the one who wanted to keep Jim out of the club, and not Oscar?

Why is it that every episode one group of people think it's the best ever and the other group's thinks it the worst episode of the series?

For real. Isn't there a vampire show on CBS he could be directing?

I was thinking the same thing.

The scene where Jim slumped down in the car and you see Karen realizing it is him and walking up to the car had me in stitches.

"It doesn't have to mean anything - just do it for Stanley! Come on Jim, just climb on top of her and think of Stanley!" That had me in tears. I also liked how the Finer Things Club only discusses books that have had movie adaptations.
Best, funniest, greatest episode ever. Except for the direction, which sucked pig tits.

This episode was just...weird...way too wacky. I was just confused by it all, like it was some psychotic dream one of the characters was having or something.

Most best terrible episode of the neither the new millennium nor the old millennium combined.

Didn't care for it much. Although Dwight's mustache was a funny.

"What are you microwaving?"
"Popcorn"
"Why don't you use the microwave in the kitchen Phyllis?"
"Someone has to clean it, it smells like popcorn."

"Jim, if this is it for me, promise me something. Host the Dundies."

I was

Absolutely the funniest this season. Dwights: "The eyes are the groin of the head" had me on the floor in tears.

Other gems:

Stanley: "I don’t understand why sleeping at your desk is better than you not being here."

Oscar: "Besides having sex with men, I would say The Finer Things Club is the gayest thing about me."

Michael: "I’m losing control of my bladder!... Take her to a motel. Make love to her, Jim. Just climb on top of her and think about Stanley...Jim, if this is it for me, promise me something. Host the Dundies."

But since Michael is a "student of comedy", wouldn't a Three Stooges-like prank be exactly the kind of thing that he'd like to pull off?
