Good episode, but definitely not a series finale. I hope Ben Silverman will pull the big fat stick out of his ass and give these guys 5-6 more episodes to finish this season and give us a proper finale. But, considering the DVD is scheduled for a April release, then that's doubtful.

By the way, even if NBC does cancel the show, Universal Media Group, which produces the show, could still shop it to another network.

You too? I can't get enough Street and Garrity!

Saracen and Landry stole the show. They play off each other great.

Finally watched the episode... even though it went a bit downhill this season, I still love this show.

Quick question about HS football... isn't it more insulting to be given free reign into the endzone after a blowout than to get shut out? I mean, they pretty much opened up the middle on purpose to let them score. It would've been different to put the second unit in and have them score legit. And there was only one more game left for them to win to make it to the playoffs, right?

Exactly. My wife & I noticed the same thing. It's one thing to call off the dogs (substitute freely, send in running plays, quit blitzing, etc.)...it's something totally different to make such an obvious defensive adjustment that even the radio announcers comment on the "gift". Why not just instruct the team to lie down on the ground while you're at it?

Knowing quite a few coaches, I feel that most if not all would feel insulted by such a patronizing action, no matter how well-intentioned. Going scoreless against an opponent is not nearly so bad as having pity bestowed upon you, no matter how glad the opposing coach was to get the score. I'm sure Coach Taylor would feel the same way.

i agree - i thought doing that would have resulted in the opposing coach getting pissed off.

Maybe pictures of him drinking in a bar with his arm around some co-eds recently surfaced, and he's just trying to get ready for a new job as a high school coach in Texas.

(Sorry, Bama fans...couldn't resist)

Absolutely right -- I thought the exact same thing.

This is a perfect example of how the show has been 'womanized' this year. They've almost totally eliminated football from the show and what little there is is obviously written by someone who doesn't have the slightest clue about either football or men. (No insult to women intended.)

If this is where the show is now, I'm not at all sad to see it cancelled.

If he was at another school, then why would he gather everyone to say "Welcome to the family" to Smash? If he was recruiting, there is no gaurantee that the dudes on the field would be playing for him - nor would he have the authority to call another coach's team to his attention for said welcome. I think they drove out there... THAT desperate.

They're talking about the Alabama coach when Smash basically begged him to sign him on the team.

Pretty sure I just saw Saracen (Zach Gilford) warming up for the NBA All Star Celebrity game over on ESPN if anyone's interested. No sign of Lance.

You won't get me to watch anything with 'NBA' attached to it unless Lyla is in a Laker Girl outfit.

Noelle > Lyla > Tyra

Btw, Alyssa Milano's there, looking mighty fine. Gabrielle Union for Wilbon too.

I could only take 3 seconds. She and Tyra and Lyla would have to be naked for me to put up with Stephen A. Smith just being loud.

Just as well. Mattie's seen about 7 seconds of playing time. He's about 2 feet shorter than everyone else and doesn't understand the playground ball-hogging mentality that dominates these games.
