I think she got skin scrapped in pilot episode.

Every time I see Summer's face I imagine the forehead on that terminator skull underneath... the think has to be massive. I love this show, but casting a doofus-looking girl as the terminator chick was a big mistake. My wife just laughs at her.

Well I liked this episode a lot. It provided a much better tie-up of the Dr. Silberman storyline than the tongue-in-cheek nonsense in T3. I was not expecting him to go all religious nutjob on the FBI agent so it was a good twist.

As for the ballet I just knew it was going to show up eventually. Can't believe it's all over as of next week.

The Saga of Dr. Silberman.

He gets committed to an asylum in Terminator: SCC

and

then he gets out, goes to a graveyard and sees Arnold again in T3.

I was confused because I was like "hey, didn't he invent KITT?"
Shouldn't they destroy that car before it becomes self-aware?

Not much to add. Loved the episode. The date thing bothered me as well, but this series (movies included) have always been godawful about that. I mean if you think about it, Isn't John going to be ten years younger now when he's leading all the guys in escaping from prison camps and whatnot?

Whatever, I'm digging the ride, and date-screw-ups aside, I loved the reverence paid to T2 in last night's ep.

Actually that kind of makes sense, given the fact that the events of T2 did not prevent Judgment Day, only delayed it. So now he won't be too old to be the great resistance fighter once he is needed.

It could be a big birthmark because she had it when she appeared on the Carson Daly show a few nights ago last week.

Two questions:

1) Was Bruce Davidson a good substitute for Earl Boen in the role of Dr. Silberman?

and

2) At this point, do you consider the TV show or Terminator 3 as the TRUE follow-up to Terminator 2?

1) Bruce is the go-to guy these days. See KNIGHT RIDER
2) Definitely TV. T3 is one of the biggest sucks ever.

BTW here's a shout out for Summer Glau. I loved it when she booted the Russian mobster across the room.

This was the first episode I really didn't like. Everything just seemed awkward and clunky and expositional for no good reason.

As much as I love to stare at Summer in a skin-tight leotard (more lighting would have helped) it just took me out of the show entirely; painfully contrived just because the actor is well-known as a dancer.

Finding the tape of mummy signing him away turns him into a petulant baby? Just didn't buy it - he's seen too many examples of her fighting for him by now. To go through that nonsense just to get that terible speech at the end was annoying. I'd almost have rather sat through another Oscar montage.

And possibly the worst line of the entire series so far; "It's a federal crime to kidnap an FBI agent!" Isn't it a federal crime to kidnap ANYONE?

The only thing I can think of I actually liked about this episode was Cameron casually walking away from the ballet teacher being killed.

Agreed. I thought T3 had a very cool ending, but it didn't make up for a terrible movie. I much prefer the show as it seems (even sans Arnold) to pay more respect to and fit in better with the previous films.

I am also digging Glau. She sell's the "There's a robot under that chick" mystique and awkwardness, as well as the danger. I especially loved how she just walked away and let them be murdered after she got the information she needed.

So is Bruce Davison going to have more of a roll on the show? If not, why not get Earl Boen to come back and play the character. That would be a nice nod to the movies.

I liked the episode though I wish the guy from the movies played the Doctor, but still given how Sarah is played by a different person not a big deal for me.

To me, it depends what the next Terminator movie does. If it follows the timeline of T3 (which I think it will), then no.

It sounded like the same music from the room to me. I also think he's freaking out about how human she seemed at that one moment. As if the machines might once replace humans alltogether. At least that sentiment fits with Sarah's closing monologue in that episode.

But let's be honest here. Getting Linda Hamilton to play the original character wouldn't make sense to this story and wouldn't happen.

It's not like Earl Boen is doing anything. They probably could've got him for a decent price, likely less than Bruce Davison got for the role.

Bruce Davison was a "special guest star," implying a one-time thing, but I hope he comes back and plays a bigger role next season.

I loved the episode. I thought the ballet dancing ending was pretty lame, though. If they are trying to imply that she is evolving, then there's NO way she would have let the ballet dance teacher die (although that was a big shock to me).

Finally, did anyone see that T4 is coming out next May? I wonder how T2/T3/SCC is going to tie into the movie. Ok, I just IMDB'ed it and it looks like it takes place after skynet has done it's dirty work. Apparently Christian Bale is playing John Conner. Really?

I'm going to guess that it will try to be as independent of the movies/shows as possible.

Ha ha, Bruce Davison is type cast as a Psychiatrist now. Anyone remember him as Hurley's doc from the season 2 Lost episode?

Well, typecast implies that he can't get work in a different role. I'm sure a lot of shows (or movies) would love to have him be a different character.

Nonetheless, good call. I forgot about the Hurley doctor on Lost. He does seem to be part of all (which are few) of the shows I watch.

I read somewhere that they approached Boen, but he's retired.

That's not what they were talking about. They were referring to Reese not knowing that Kyle is John's dad.
