I love those Four Guys skits. My favorite was the first one with Rainn Wilson.

Wow, if he had realized that he could have just made some sarcastic comment about how the trailer itself could have been a SNL spoof. Boy was he fooled.

Actually I did think he could have been sarcastic but I guess I had to make sure.

Overall, I thought it was a pretty solid and even show. There wasn't one skit that stunk up the room. I liked the two walk-on spots on weekend update. Nick Fehn is awesome. He reminds me of so many people that just can't put a coherent thought together. Kristin Wiig is impressing me as well. A lot of her characters are neurotic twits, and I love it. "Death By Chocolate" skits were very funny. Overall, I thought Ashton was a very good host, seemed completely comfortable, and it's always good to have a "mimbo" on the show to get the juices of the female cast flowing.

Shia again? He just hosted like a year ago. Can't they find someone new?

SNL likes having a host with a big movie opening and Shia LaBeouf is in the new Indiana Jones movie opening on May 22nd. (And when he hosted last year, it was because of being in Disturbia and the upcoming Summer blockbluster Transformers).

(Although great to see that My Morning Jacket is the musical guest that weekend!)

Um, I think the studios like it even more.

This episode was just OK. I really wish SNL would do fewer political sketches. I just don't find most of them very funny. Ashton was OK but Cameron was very good in her cameo.

Death by Chocolate funny? Yeah, I guess if you liked Laser Cats. UGH!

There was only one. I think that's fair.

I meant week after week. Even one or two is too much for me.

wiig's WU character blew armisen's away.

nick fehn's been on i think 2-3 times now, i liked it the first time but there's not much depth to the act.

Wiig is clearly the star of the show despite not being one of the longer running cast members. Someone just needs to drag Poehler out back and put her (and us) out of her misery. Didn't care for her pre-strike and that crap her and Tina Fey pulled during Weekend Update really polarized that feeling. Not to go on a mini-rant here but I just hate people like her who got their "spot" by being best friends with someone (Fey, head writer) in charge. In recent years (last year and the year before) the writers clearly wanting to stay in Fey's good graces seemed to write a large number of skits specifically to get her on screen. OTOH, this did give Wiig some time to get a foothold and she sort of "slingshotted" past Poehler when it came to moving past SNL into the film realm. I suspect "Baby Momma" will bomb severely and hopefully that will open up some eyes that Poehler's not "all it".

I don't really like Wiig, honestly. Well, I should say I don't find her characters all that funny. I admire her going full steam with her characters, but I'd rather laugh then be impressed by her ability to rapidly spit lines (her WU character) or contort her dialogue around quirky outbursts and speech patterns (target lady).

She does the annoying character much too much. Very much so what MadTV does too often. Poehler is worse though, her characters are irritating but even more so because they are really loud and screechy.

Both actresses are better off putting that strength into more reserved characters that have funny dialogue to deliver. Poehler was great in UCB and her episode of Arrested Development even Blades of Glory, and Wiig was great in that little role in Knocked Up and that Jamie Lee Curtis Activia bit (which should've been funnier though).

On the whole, I think the show is improving. The writing is much better than the Tina Fey years and they seem to be more experimental. It's very smart of them to do shorter sketches that rely on one or a few punchlines than doing a joke over and over and over in one sketch and then make it into a recurring bit. I do understand that it's very hard to do, and fit into and 1 1/2 of comedy on a weekly basis.

I'm hoping for the opposite. That way Poehler will leave.

Gnarls rocked. The show was slow and painful.

I only watched the Gnarls performances. They were great. I'll have to get their new CD.

Great performance by Gnarls Barkley. Loved their look, too. Cee-Lo's hair was amazing.

overall, not bad. I liked the Walken episode better, but Kutcher was decent and didn't take anything away from the show.

I liked the 4 guys sketch (love that pedophile joke, as old as it may be), and the death by chocolate bit (ashton's face and the absurdity of it).
