DVD Talk Hall of Fame
I just watched the last 2 episodes on Hulu. I hadn't watched at all this season, and only caught an episode here and there the last two. They still come up with a couple laughs per episode, but it's not as good as the reruns I've caught on Comedy Central.
They always walked a fine line with the crude and silly humor, but now that seems to be all it offers. Do any of the episodes center around the patient anymore? What about the guy with breast cancer? Was that just to bring up Turk having a testicle removed? Last week the burn victim falling on stage at his graduation I thought was pretty tasteless. They wouldn't have done that a few years ago.

Last week's episode was especially bad in that regard. Zach Braff constantly mugs for the camera, Elliot has become an exaggerated form of her former self, and even Turk has become somewhat unbearable to watch. Basically, what were once attributes for characters have become their defining characteristics across the board, and most of the jokes these days seem to be based on that.
But again, tonight's episode seemed to break away from that a bit.

I actually thought season 5 was the best season of scrubs.
