Pushing Daisies - "The Norwegians" - 12/17/08
Episode 10 - The Norwegians
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
I read somewhere that ABC is expected to show the final three episodes in January, and that the finale has been recut with a new beginning and ending to apply some level of series closure.
What a great show...

The explanation of "Mother" was brilliant, as was the special guest star at the end. It makes me even more depressed that this one's going away.
Curse you, ABC! We get "Border Cops" and "I'm More Vain Than You", but PD gets cancelled? Ugh.

Mother
Hahaha. Yes, I caught the acronym but immediately forgot the words. I was wondering if anyone else caught it too. The writers are brilliant.

This episode just goes to show how good this show can be without the increasingly weak murder of the week.
I didn't catch any overt reference to it but I found it funny that they DNA tested Olive to confirm her Norse heritage before letting her on a team led by Orlando Jones.

That was a fun ep and I really liked The Sisters scenes together.
It was good seeing Orlando Jones and my sweetheart Ivana Milicevic in this ep.
I know one thing, before this show goes off I want Olive to know the truth gawd dammmit.

because she can't keep a secret which she herself admits.
I was really not liking this episode until they stole mother and then it became gold again. I was having trouble with their awful accents and Olive switching sides. I should have known better. So sad it's almost over. Oh Hell No! LOL

I liked when Olive kept calling the other detectives' homeland Norwegia and that she was victim also when Mother was stolen because she was accosted by people in blue and yellow and that she could hear ABBA music in the background.
I'm sad this show's going away, if only because I think a lot of plotlines will be left unresolved due to the complexity and quality of the writing.
The ones I'm most interested in are:

The ones I'm most interested in are:
- Emerson Cod and the search for his daughter
- Ned and the unresolved issues with his father
- Chuck and her entire family dynamic (father/aunt/mother)
- Ned and Chuck's inability to make physical contact
- Finding a satisfactory love interest for Olive (who briefly appeared in Season One)

I deleted this from my DVR as soon as Orlando Jones's name came up. He was the worst part of the LOTR movies, and he completely sucked the life out of the POTC flicks.

Good news for Chenoweth fans...
Kristin Chenoweth Is Mad for David E. Kelley
And the slim hopes of Pushing Daisies fans wilt just a bit more.
David E. Kelley has plucked Kristin Chenoweth to co-star in Legally Mad, the Boston Legal creator's new series for NBC.
A quirky legal drama (get out!) revolving around a woman who takes a job at her father's Chicago law firm, Legally Mad finds Chenoweth playing Skippy Pylon, a brilliant but somewhat off-kilter — OK, perhaps slightly psychotic — attorney who is often is mistaken for a teenager.
Of Chenoweth's casting, Kelley says in a statement, "I've wanted to work with her for a long time and can't wait to reveal her as someone who's completely mad."
The last scheduled episode of Pushing Daisies aired Dec. 17; the fate of the remainder of the ABC series' 13-episode Season 2 order remains TBD.
Prior to her Emmy-nominated Daisies run, Chenoweth appeared on such TV series as The West Wing and the eponymous sitcom Kristin. She also of course originated the role of Glinda the Good Witch in Broadway's Wicked. I still remember catching one of her first performances, where a real-life injury landed her in a neck brace, and she was quite the effervescent trouper!
