Well, it's a fictional show. Isn't the point to make it up as you go? Isn't that why we watch fictional tv shows and movies and read fictional books? For made-up stories? Whether they know where it is going or not is irrelevant, they have an endgame and that is all we can wait for. It is not our place to judge how they go about telling us their story, it is our place to judge if we like the story; if we do, we keep watching, if not we don't...

Not trying to get on anyone's case...just sayin.

I believe that actress was also caught drunk driving, though it wasn't the ordeal it was for Rodriguez because I believe she had an otherwise clean record.

But it's a mistake to blame them for what you see as flaws in season two when the circumstances were beyond their control.
There are flaws in seasons two and three. These people clearly know how to tell a story when they want to. They were doing a piss poor job during parts of each of those seasons. I think it's easy to conclude that particularly during season 2, they saw a smash hit in their eyes and felt they needed to complicate the plot to drag the thing out.

I never got to the bottom of this rumor to my satisfaction, but I think there was talk of discord between the original cast and the new additions, wasn't there?

They get a role on a popular show and then want out. I just checked IMDB and he has exactly ONE role since quitting lost. Great career move, buddy!
He's an amazing actor, so I interpret that fact differently. I am guessing he's either off doing stage acting because that's what he wants to do or else he isn't working by choice. I don't think he was such a prima donna on the set of LOST that he'd be blackballed.

I would be really interested in one day finding out just how much the writers did have planned and which things they changed. For one, it seems like the Others were very different originally from what they turned out to be. All dressed in rags and running around barefoot.
I don't trust the people behind the scenes (particularly Cuse and Lindelof) to ever be straight with us about that. There seems to be some genre-cred to having it all planned out that I'm sure they don't want to miss out on. Blame the Joss Whedon fanboys who hail Buffy. Thing is, I vastly prefer Angel, which clearly was never planned out meticulously. There's room for that in TV as well.

Not that I recall. I think that's still in the unanswered category.

^^ Very true. Unanswered question. I wonder if they will ever show us or if that's one we are simply meant to ponder over? A lot of people, I remember, thought she was told to sleep with Sawyer in order to convince Jack to do the surgery on Ben. I wonder if that's all there is to that mystery or if it's something else. Hmm....

They let her shower and gave her the dress so Sawyer would look at her, like he eventually did. Ben didn't tell her anything really, other than scamming her, Jack and Sawyer without them realizing it.

In one of the Producers' podcasts close to Ana Lucia's death, they spoke of how Ana Lucia's character wasn't as well received as they would have liked. They planned on having Michael kill her, but were afraid that the audience would be cheering as opposed to being horrified by Michael's actions. They decided to have Michael kill Libby also to give it all more emotional weight.

So basically, Libby died because 'everyone' hated Ana Lucia.

Well, they wrote her to be unlikable, so what did they expect?

Good thing they didn't kill off two well liked regulars when they got rid of Pablo and Nikki!

They would have had to massacre the entire regular cast to drown out the cheering for that one...

I don't think Widmore hired the bounty hunter. Why would Widmore want Sayid to go to Guam or the island? Sayid killed all of his people. He probably wants Sayid dead. Also, how could the guy's family know Sayid killed him? No one knows that, except Ben.

I think it's a pretty sure lock that young Ben is not dead. But how?
First, how do we know it was actually young Ben that let Sayid out and ran into the jungle with him?
What if young Ben was controlling Smokey to let Sayid out. He was shocked when Sayid shot Smokey and didn't know what to do, so Smokey just laid there while Sayid ran off.

Your idea is kind of going in the right direction, but I don't know...Smokey can't be shot, dude.

We know Ben is not dead? How? For anybody who has seen a preview for this week's episode, there is a line in there that tell you how we know.

Spoiler:
Kate shouting that they are responsible for everything that happened, or something to that effect. I took that that Sayid's plan backfired.
