Re: American Idol Top 10, March 25/26 Motown Week

I'm going to have to go with Michael Sarver going home.

DialIdol Prediction:
Spoiler:
Only three are in danger of going home this week:
Michael Sarver
Megan Joy Corkery
Scott McIntyre

Sarver is most likely to go home, followed by Corkery (or Joy as she now goes by), then McIntyre, but it could be any of the three. It is possible that somebody else will be in the bottom three, or two. But one of these three will go home.

I guess I am alone here, but I really do not like Allison. I find it very hard to understand what she is singing. She slurs, or does not seem to pronounce her words fully. It really bugs me...

I agree with you, although I really like Allison. Last night it was more pronounced (no pun)...so much that I expected Cowell to call her on it ("I honestly cawnt understand a word you are saying").

Joy should go, or Sarver. Scott next as long as Anoop keeps improving.

Lambert's performance was right on the mark (although the earrings clashed with his 'do). He really nailed it, but I still don't like his voice. Way too much falsetto. Last night I could appreciate the WAY he sang it without appreciating the sonics. It's just a personal thing...I never cared for Frankie Valli or Wayne Newton, either. If Lambert would rein it in & use the falsetto more sparingly, it would be fine (for instance, I really enjoy Chris Isaak).

WHY CAN'T AI SPEND A FEW BUCKS TO HIRE A TIMEKEEPER????? Looks like it would be a simple thing to have a light in front of each judge that would warn them when their comments get out of hand. It seems totally stupid to have them repeatedly running out of time for the last few contestants & then having to rush their comments (or, in the case of Alexis, almost not getting her performance in). Not that they really care about being "fair", but the last couple of singers really get short shrift when it comes to exposure. Of course, that could be a good thing for Joy, Sarver, & Scott.

I like that Megan is wearing dresses that compliment and blend in with her arm tattoos.

How has this not been mentioned yet?

When they asked Paula what else she had under that desk and she said, "Not under my desk, under my skirt." Ryan was like, "What?" Then Paula clearly mouthed to the camera, "A pussy." That's when Simon quickly moved his hand over her mouth.

Best Paula moment of the series for me.

I LOL when Simon drew whiskers on Paula during Allison's "critique" and it made Paula so self-conscious.

I love Megan, but she was awful. The wife agreed. However, she still thinks Sarver is the one who is going home.

Danny is an arrogant twat. And he sounds the same every week to me.

Nothing complements or blends in with those arm tattoos IMO. What a shame on such a good looking girl.

Re: American Idol Top 10, March 25/26 Motown Week

Lil Rounds - Really? Motown week was her week to absolutely shine and she blew it. That song was terrible and exposed her for what she is...a girl with a good voice but one that can't keep up with the people in her genre that do it for a living. It was flat and she sang just under the key for the entire song. The first half was HORRENDOUS and the second half barely tolerable.

Sarver - Doesn't have the chops for that song AT ALL. You need to have a certain natural emotion in your voice and he doesn't have it.

Megan - I have never experienced a contestant who just has no clue how to pick songs to sing that appeal to her voice. As someone who used to really like her, I am moving in another direction lately.

Allison - great song, great vocal...I look forward to seeing here every week.

Danny/Matt/Kris - liked all 3 quite a bit. Kris has that Jason Mraz thing going for him and Danny and Matt can just flat out sing.

Scott- awful.

Adam - I liked it. I would never listen to it, but in the scope of the competition I think he did a good job. Just when most people had enough of the shtick, he toned it down and had a good performance.

The bottom 3 are so easy this week.

Sarver
Megan
Scott

Sarver goes home. Just not enough fan base to push him through.

What he said.

I think Matt looked more like k.d. lang last night.

And when Kara gives advice, it's quite specific as to the mechanics of singing. It's funny watching Paula try the same and still float back to the empty "we still love you" praise.

The fact that not one judge brought that up makes me think the conspiracy theorists are on to something about Danny being the producer's 'anointed one'. I love how they were conveniently "out of time" for Danny's judging, yet they had plenty of time to not only give Allison comments but to screw around with that magic marker silliness AND get comments from Berry and Smokey (comments they could have just as easily got on the results the next night).

Re: American Idol Top 10, March 25/26 Motown Week

The odd thing about Megan is that I loved her when she was singing that song to Smokey, but then sounded terrible when she sang it with the band. It sounds like she "amps" up her voice on the performance nights and it just does not fit the tone or quality of her voice at all and makes her sing out of tune.

She needs to dial back her performances and strip them down and get back to what makes her good.

The producers, like every other company in America, seem to want to attract the Hispanic audience. It seems very evident this year. Going to Puerto Rico (???) and putting threw that Hispanic guy with the big eye brows... Sorry I cannot remember his name, but I though he never should have made it into the top 12/13...

I don't think the judges will ever call Allison out for anything. They want her to do well so they will have more of a Hispanic audience. Giving her the Prime spot last night after a bad showing last week... Getting comments from Berry and Smokey... COME ON!!!! I am amazed they didn't give her a couple extra phone numbers for people to call in on!

After being in the bottom 3 last week, she deserve all that air time.

My DVR puked last week and I missed both shows with the exception of seeing the blond/pink girl voted off. So, I did not see if they layed into Allison.

If they did, then I guess I am wrong on them not calling her out on things. No sweat. (I still think the producers are trying to up their Hispanic audience though... I don't have a problem with that, unless they do so by giving unfair advantages... All companies should try to make more money.)

Teenage girls are keeping Adam on this show. Just like they did Sanjaya. Most people that I can assume are over 16 (online) don't like the guy. Regardless, and at the end of the day, if Adam wins this contest, he'll be gone from the public's radar before you know it. That voice just won't sell records beyond his debut.
