And dialidol was pretty far off on this one - they had Lil Rounds as the second highest. OK, it was within the margin of error because *everybody* was predicted as having the potential of being in the bottom three, but still it was off.

Re: American Idol, Top 7, April 14/15 -- Songs from the Movies

I don't think it was that hard of a decision. From the vote trends, it's not unlikely that those three would come in at the bottom again, and they'd lose their save power if they didn't use it this week or next. There's no chance that Adam or Danny would be in the bottom next week, and not much chance of Kris either. Allison would be the biggest risk, but the judges are probably told just what the breakdown is and how close she was to the bottom three. I did like seeing how happy the other contestants were for Matt.

at least the "save" is out of play, and there is now a chance that screeching cock-warbling Adam will be sent home.

Is she considered to be pretty? Because I think she's got a weird rodent-like face.

That's what I call that insufferable douchebag too!

i don't see why the save even matters anyway. Matt's been in the bottom 3 3 times now...he's going home next week regardless. so is Lil. just prolongs their agony for another week really. Rather meaningless ploy to drum up some drama is all the "save" crap is.

I think that next week could be a trap with
Spoiler:
disco week
.
Wouldn't the judges want to prop Matt up at least one week so they don't look like the save is pointless? It also keeps the three soulful boys in play and splitting their votes so if someone like Kris goes home, Matt would look like the villain. However, if Matt's save causes Danny to be in the bottom two, I would vote for Matt for the rest of the season.

i thought the point was to vote off the worst singer gets voted off...based on the singing, that would have been Miley by a Mile.

and she's not even that good looking either. Not bad, but man, not not either.

Re: American Idol, Top 7, April 14/15 -- Songs from the Movies

Both Miley and Allison are 16. Miley is a much better actor, Allison is a much better performer. Can you imagine Allison on a show like Hannah Montana?

Miley's big break was having her father who is a well known early '90s country singer, Billy Ray Cyrus, who was able to get her started. I don't like Miley's singing, but her future is in performing in movies / TV shows, not singing (in my opinion).

With regard to next week's theme, Disco Week, I wonder who the mentor will be? And remember that the songs will have to be from that era, but they can change the beat / music to whatever they want... for better or worse.

Re: American Idol, Top 7, April 14/15 -- Songs from the Movies

i guess im in the minority thinking miley's performance was fun.

also, why would they save Matt? I was so relieved when they revealed he was in the bottom 3. Then when he was voted off, I celebrated more than I ever have watching Idol in all 8 seasons.

Then they pull this save crap! Save it for next week when one of the stronger singers may have a bad/unlucky week. It was Matt's time.

Disco week? If there's any justice in this world, Adam must sing "It's Raining Men."

Re: American Idol, Top 7, April 14/15 -- Songs from the Movies

Miley is a horrible singer. Britney Spears sounds like Mariah Carey next to her. Miley sang with a group of divas for a song benefitting cancer and she stood out as the worst singer by a mile.

Yeah, the save is just dumb because Matt will just find himself kicked off next week unless he can pull off a miracle. The save was just a way to give the show a 'twist', make it fresh, and perhaps increase the show's slipping ratings.

I also feel like I'm the only one with ears because Adam makes them bleed every week.

Re: American Idol, Top 7, April 14/15 -- Songs from the Movies

Kris needs to learn how to sing on key. He also should try to forge some kind of a memorable tone out of his voice, because he doesn't stand out at all. In fact, everyone kind of sucks this year. I'm kind of digging on Allison's vocals though.
PS- I laughed at Adam's attempt at damage control after that movie premier.

'I liked the cheerleaders'

Yeah right

In case anyone is wondering what Sanjaya is up to...he's in Fargo all weekend singing the National Anthem at the Shrine Circus.

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner.

ETA: Simon was right, Adam's performance would be love/hate and I'm in the hate crowd, such a great song, it's supposed to be "heavy metal thunder", not theater musical screeching.

Re: American Idol, Top 7, April 14/15 -- Songs from the Movies

Adam said a couple of times that he loved the Rocky Horror Picture Show? Why couldn't he have done a song from it? "I Can Make You a Man" would have been great, as would have "Sweet Transvestite". "Hot Patootie" would also have been a good, fun song.

I felt Adam was channeling Rob Halford a bit this week.
