Cougar Town -- "Into the Great Wide Open" -- 9/30/09

Cougar Town

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

After ignoring Ellie's warning about hanging out with a younger crowd, Jules' pride and reputation take a hit when she tries to keep up with out-of-control twentysomethings.

Episode thread for this one too. Saw the Pilot last night and laughed quite a few times.

Kind of a random question...I remember Busy Phillips when she was on Dawson's Creek several years ago. Somehow I don't remember her having such a voluptuos figure. But, good nevertheless.

I just laughed my tail off at the montage with her on the cop's shoulders holding the gun up in the air.

The photo montage was hilarious, the rest was dull.

Yeah, the rest wasn't anything special, but it was enough to keep me hooked for another week.

I shouldn't like this show, but I do. I can't put my finger on it. It was formulaic and not even all that well executed, but it's likable somehow.

Montage good, but I really am tired of the Christa Miller character already. Plus, this comedy feels like a 45 minute show at times, but the son-dad stuff was good.

I was amused by Courtney yelling at Travis to wake up to study during the beginning. But the rest was dull. I think I'm done watching this show.

I'm enjoying this so far. But I too can't exactly say just why.

liking this so far as well. Cox looks really good and i think the chemistry with all the characters but Christa Miller works. i wish Bill would stop putting his wife in everything he does. Ian Gomez is comedy gold.

Not as good as the premiere but had a few minutes that were decent but a lot of it seems really forced. Not everyone can pull of Bill Lawrence's brand of wacky and there are a few weak links in the cast who just haven't clicked yet IMO.

David Mamet had the same problem too, he kept putting in Rebecca Pidgeon in most of his films, to their detriment.

I thought that it was a pretty good episode. Still don't like the dumb dad character.

i actually don't mind Rebecca in all of Mamet's films. she handles the material well and looks nice. with all of Miller's surgery she just looks like a shell of her former Drew Carey self.

I thought this was so much better than the pilot and the pilot was really good. I actually enjoyed this more than Modern Family's second episode (which I also liked).

Really enjoying this show. As much as I thought Friends being totally average - Cox was my the most tolerable on it and she's great here.
