I've been thinking about this comment and while I get what you're saying, I'm also one who believes that most folks aren't as cynical. Many humans will swallow a lot of what a pretty face is saying hook, line, and sinker no questions asked. Isn't this why the aliens chose pretty skin coverings and not ugly ones?
I mean, you're already in on the "joke". You have a pretty good idea of what's coming from the aliens. But in the show humans have never seen an 80's Mini-series called "V".

Quick question, did anyone get the feeling that any of those NY scenes were filmed in NY and not in LA? I was in NY last May, and none of those street scenes felt they were in NY. There was also no shoots of a main actor looking up to say, the Empire State Building with the ship in the same shot.

Just watched the pilot online, and the production values are pretty nice, but I must say it felt alittle rushed, too much happened right away, I think this should of been a two hour premiere or a few episodes even.
By moving so quick in 1 episode there wasn't the suspense that there could of been if they took there time

For some reason I was thinking it looked a little more like Chicago.
There's no way I get a New York vibe out of it.

But none of the skyscrapers the actors were looking up at seemed to have a NY feel. And the house and the church didn't seem like it either.
Also, they said they are here for our water. But when interviewed didn't Lisa say they had "vast Oceans" or something. Or did I hear that all wrong?
