Very funny (and true) article on Seacrest:

Katie got robbed. I never thought she could win... but for her to go home before, Tim, Aaron and Mike and even Siobhan = Robbed!

I was actually pretty sad to see Katie go, as she really gave it her all in her final performance tonight, and especially since there were 3 others I'd rather see go tonight before Katie did. Ah well...

It was good to hear Brooke White sing, but I couldn't stand that guy she was singing with in their performance.

For all of the speculation that there were going to be a lot of strong girls and weak guys...

First three boots were girls.
First guy to get booted was saved.

Now we're four girls booted, one guy booted...

I wonder if the people most likely to vote (tweeners and cougars?) tend to vote for the guys?

As for this past week, Katie is a good singer and I really hope she sticks with it - but she wasn't the best out there. If she hadn't left this week she would have left in the next week or two anyway. As far as Andrew Garcia goes, he should have left a few weeks ago.

Please, no Whitney Houston. Whitney Houston can't even sing Whitney Houston anymore.

Unfortunately, which means the approved list is chock full of sappiness and cheesiness. In other words, right in the wheelhouse of a lot of these people!

If anyone chooses Jordin Sparks' awful coronation song "This Is My Now" they should be eliminated right on the spot on general principles. Has "The Boxer" ever been done on AI? I was surprised to see it on the list since the lyrics aren't very family friendly. Of course, if someone picks it they'll probably neuter the words, like Archuletta did with "Imagine".

I'll be looking next week to see if Lee follows Kara's advice and comes out smiling, skipping, and perhaps holding a kitten. Could these people not "get" the rock genre any more than they do? Of course Lee is an awfully wussy rocker, but still. Think of the performances you've seen by great rock vocalists. At least for me, I don't remember a lot of smiling. Rock just isn't a very "smiley" genre. Although that's real rock ... not the wimpy stuff that these judges take for being rock.

Katie was in my bottom 3 last night, I just thought Aaron was a little bit worse. They're both horrible, so it didn't really matter who left.

Elvis, he was a hero to most....

I cheered when Katie got the boot... She has such a sense of entitlement... I can't stand her.

3rd song on next week's song list...

Really? That person gets credited as the person most connected to that song?

I agree, but who else would you give credit to? (the song is Amazing Grace by Susan Boyle) Or maybe just say "American standard"?

'American Idol' Front-Runner Almost Quit
Originally posted Apr 16th 2010 1:00 AM PDT by TMZ Staff

TMZ has learned "American Idol" contestant Crystal Bowersox threw in the towel a little more than two weeks ago and was walking off the show, when Ryan Seacrest did some fast-talking and changed her mind.

It went down in a parking lot after an "A.I." show. In front of several people, Crystal told Ryan she couldn't handle the competition.... she said she hated the attention and said to Seacrest, "What's the point?"

Crystal said she was going back to Ohio to be with her family, whom she missed terribly.

Ryan told Crystal that being on "Idol" was like starting a business, and if she won she'd get a recording contract and become a millionaire.

Seacrest sealed the deal by telling her, "The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house. You can buy your mom a house."

Seacrest out ... Crystal, not out.

I have no idea if that story is true or not, but it's certainly plausible.

If I'm not mistaken, I think she said that she never watched the show. If that's the case, there is a good chance she had no idea what she was getting into.

I'm not suggesting that she quit... but in all honesty, she could walk out today and (most likely) still be a millionaire.

Whatever happened to that other guy who quit early so he could jump on another record deal? I don't even remember his name.

Re: American Idol - Top 9 Part II, April 13/14, Elvis Week

Took me a little bit to find him, and the only way I did was by searching for Nikko Smith who I remembered since he is the son of the greatest baseball shortstop in history, Ozzie Smith.

Nikko Smith had been voted off but came back when Mario Vazquez quit. Here is the Vazquez story:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Vazquez

Let's just say that unless he married a rich woman recently, he is not a millionaire.

"Vazquez has not been heard of since 2007, and his website was shut down shortly after being dropped by his label."

LMFAO.

You can't compare Vazquez to Bowersox. He quit before the show started, there's no way she wouldn't get a record deal at this stage of the competition.
Again, I don't think it's a good idea that she quit, but at this stage in the game, she'll do just fine..... if that's what she wants. Maybe she doesn't want any part of all this, maybe it's all too much.

That is such a non-story. The fact of the matter is she hasn't quit so it's irrelevant. A big "who cares?!" to that.

And in other news...Simon Cowell was NOT murdered this weekend. Instead, he had a rather uneventful weekend spent sleeping and reading the newspaper. Now for the weather.

THats not why he quit...

http://www.tmz.com/2007/03/12/fallen...-male-employe/

"According to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and obtained by TMZ, Vazquez allegedly "sexually harassed" Magdaleno Olmos, assistant accountant for Fremantle Media, the company that produces American Idol.

In the lawsuit, Olmos claims "Vazquez stared lasciviously, smiled lasciviously ... and on one occasion followed him into a bathroom ... knocked on the door of the plaintiff's stall and made eye contact through the space in the stall door."

The lawsuit alleges that Vazquez "started to rub his genitals over his pants. Attempting to leave the bathroom, Olmos opened the door of the stall and saw Vazquez standing in front of him with his pants down masturbating."

According to the documents, Vazquez pushed Olmos "further into the stall and continued masturbating with one hand and trying to pull down Olmos' pants with another hand."

Olmos claims that he tried to "cover his body with his hands" but Vazquez touched his "chest and stomach underneath his shirt, and Olmos' "genitals" as Vazquez "attempted to unzip" Olmos' pants.

Vazquez then allegedly asked Olmos "if he wanted oral sex."

...I never heard a result of the lawsuit

Re: American Idol - Top 9 Part II, April 13/14, Elvis Week

Crystal really bothered me at 1st, now she has really grown on me.

If she wanted to leave the show, I love her even more. I do not like the "Want Fame" group of people, she loves music not fame and money. She wants to be back with her family and child, which is really cool.

The show is going to help grow up and accept her $$$ responsiblities, but I hope she never looses her joy for music.

I think she hates it when people are being voted off, her tears are real. My impression is she feels bad when others dreams fails as she sees her dream blossoming.

She will be hating the 1 year push after she wins and goes on tour/makes her own CD. I hope others don't destroy her just to make a few more dollar bills.

Go Crystal, it yours to win.
