Community -- Season Finale -- "Pascal's Triangle Revisited" -- 05/20/10

Photobucket

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
In the first season finale, jealousy runs rampant at Greendale as Britta (Gillian Jacobs) and Professor Slater (Lauren Stamile) fight for the affection of Jeff (Joel McHale). Meanwhile, Troy (Donald Glover) is confused when his best friend, Abed (Danny Pudi), doesn't invite him to move into his dorm room.

Who would have thought back in September that this would turn out to be one of the best sitcoms of this season. Glad I stayed with it after a mediocre Pilot.

Interview with Gillian Jacobs about the finale

I think the way Community has grown is what gives me some level of hope about Outsourced. I remember thinking when I saw bits of Community's pilot that they really should have pursued the IT Crowd American version McHale was attached to instead of this show with Chevy Chase of all people. I was wrong, and I couldn't be happier I was wrong.

Really glad this show is getting a second season. It started out ok, but quickly found its way into my "required viewing" schedule and is now my favorite comedy on TV.

I am in the minority. I thought it was pretty funny right out of the gate and only got better.

This show is appointment TV for me. Very pleased it will be back next season.

Re: Community -- Season Finale -- "Pascal's Triangle Revisited" -- 05/20/10

As soon as I read the thread title, my first thought was that this has to be among the best first seasons for a show, ever. I wasn't terribly interested after the pilot, but I just seen McHale perform his stand-up, and I felt like I should give his show a little time to develop. I'm so glad I did. Last year I really loved HIMYM and the Big Bang theory. This year, I still like those shows, but I look forward to watching Community much more.

This and Modern Family have absolutely entertained me this year! Sad to see their first seasons come to an end, but really look forward to whatever they have planned next season!

Have you seen the movie Outsourced is based on? It was pretty funny. It could lend itself to be a great show if they handle the material right. I loved the preview that's online.

Can't wait for Community tonight. My current favorite sitcom!

I thought the pilot was better as a whole than as the clips they showed at about this time last year. It was actually at that point I decided to give the show a real shot, and I'm glad I did.

Really excited for this, but sad this is the last episode for awhile. One of my new favorite shows.

Yeah, I kinda figured that would go down. Either way, good finale. Great season.

Great episode! Definitely didnt see that ending coming at all!

I think the best part was when Troy told Pierce he would move in and Pierce responding saying "great, ill tell them to get you a uniform"

Jeff Winger is the man. Saw that ending coming as soon as he snuck out. Fun show, even when its serious it comes off sincere.

I loved the parts where Shirley was trying to figure out exactly where Jeff and Britta did it in the study room. I laughed out loud when Britta mentioned the table and Shirley squealed "what table?!?"

I wasn't crazy about that ending, though.

Awesome end to an awesome season, though I was really bummed that Jeff didn't choose Britta. Great to see John Oliver back out of nowhere, his performance was hilarious.

This was probably the strongest first season for any show I've been into. I thought every episode was good, even the pilot, but I didn't get officially addicted until the final 5 episodes or so.

Pretty good although the love-quadrangle arc was kind of forced. The bits with Pierce, Troy, and Shirley were awesome.

Pierce: You, Me, Jeff, Rain Man, Big Boobs, Medium Boobs, and Black Boobs, we're a family.
...
Troy: Am I Black Boobs?

And we never found out who was crowned Tranny Queen!!

I did not see the ending with Annie coming at all...

I figured he would end up choosing Britta because the whole time they have had this tension, and then out of nowhere him and Annie..

Gotta say I'm extremely excited for next season, this show was such a great season, especially for a first season.

The Annie stuff was kind of handled before when they were on the debate team and kissed.

Interesting way to set things up for season 2. I like that they had just about all of the bit characters back for the finale in some form. The video yearbook was pretty funny too.

I kinda expect Jeff and Annie to jump back from each other, say that this can never happen, and go their seperate ways, like they did when they kissed before. But out of the three, I would rather he ends up with Annie, despite the age difference.

I was so hard.

I would've picked Annie as well. It was a great season finale episode. This show has been the best comedy all season and I can't wait for season 2!
