I think Bill said that vampires had spread some false rumors about things like that so that it would be easier to prove that they weren't vampires. "See, I have a reflection, not a vampire."

Yeah I remember that now. That's one of the reasons that I like the show. Instead of using the same old tired vampire cliches they rewrite it to make it new and more interesting. In fact I think this is the first vampire centric media that I've ever liked.

I hope this also lead's to Jason's storyline from the books too.

I have read in articles that that is supposed to happen this season - still a LOT to fit into 10 episodes!

Jason's Story...

I haven't read the novel books, but did read a short story by Charlaine Harris in which Sookie befriends a werewolf at Christmas. It touches on a few plot tidbits that might or might not play a part in the future, such as... well, I won't spoilerize, but look to the cap Jason has on in the series premiere and you might get a hint.

Spoiler:
I'm thinking the girl he saw is what makes him a were-panther

This season might have way too much going on. Hopefully they build it up and let it go flow over into season 4. I'm really looking forward to Jason's story (if they do it), and if they follow through w/ Bill's agenda which has been hinted for a while.

^ You mention what I believe might be this season's major weakness. While it is starting strong, it looks like it might get bogged down with too many characters and arcs to follow. That's attention span I'm saving for Game of Thrones when it finally arrives! ;) (I'm reading the first book)

I think the point was to show that Sam's shapeshifting brother can multi-change while Sam can only do one animal at a time.

I assume he meant Sam's [story] arc, and not some plot line where Sam saves two of every species from a flood.

MY prediction, though not necessarily for this season:

Spoiler:
Bill must make a choice between Jessica, who for all practical purposes is his daughter, and Sookie in a life or death situation. He will most likely choose Sookie and bring about Jessica's demise. This all sucks for Jessica as chances are she will die in some way unique to a vamp and she didn't really want to become one in the first place.

DID it though? It sends Tara into the funky tailspin that leads her into the arms of that vampire (name
Spoiler:
Franklin Mott
) a detial not covered in the books. Gave Andy and Jason dark secrets to hide. AND more importantly (as shown the the season opener's "Previously on..."), Sookie's additional, as-yet unexplained supernatural power.

Not exactly how that happens in the books. It would also ruin some future character developments that really work for Jason. I fully expect that chain of events to span several episodes and not happen overnight as it is the central "mystery" of the fourth book.

True, but you gotta remember that Alan Ball said this season is about the character's "finding out who they are." Plus he said he was going to start taking stuff from later in the books and start adding it now (i.e. Sam revealing he's a shifter to Jason and Andy). Just like they are already dropping clues about Sookie's supernatural powers during last season, this could be the beginning of Jason's. While I hope they take their time and do a good amount of focus on Jason's story, I dont think they are going to devote too much time, seeing as how half of season two revolved around him and the FotS.

Finally caught the ep and I liked it.

-I LOVE Lafayette and his caring for Tara. Lafayette is a great character.
-I can't wait to see how Sam's story pans out. Did his Mom say she was a shifter too? So Sam, his Mom and obviously his brother but not his Dad shift right?
-Alfie Woodard YEAH!
-I agree with the other poster who said they wanted more of Pam and Jessica. I liked their little talk, even if Pam seems like she isn't interested in being a Mommy.
-Southern Gays + Southern Vampires = Awesome *I LOVE'EM!!* They have such a wonderful sense of styyyyyle.
-I'm still not feeling the Werewolf threat. So far the Vamps seem more dangerous. In fact, the WW's seem more dangerous in Human form than in Wolf form. I saw on HBO where Ball said he dind't want 2 legged Werewolf-Beasts and that's too bad.
-So we're going to have some Major Werewolf leader as the bad guy this season? I'm guessing this is the same WW Godric(sp?) and Erik were hunting back in '45 right?

His mom is a shifter his father is normal. +1 on Lafayette.

I think that's exactly what he was doing. He's obviously a violent kid and I'm guessing his dad has been using him for dog fights.

So, the vampire dude that was snooping in Bill's house found a folder Bill (presumably) had on Sookie. So, it looks as if they are saying Bill was given a mission to befriend/fall-in-love with Sookie? I don't want any spoilers but did everyone else get that impression? Was this what Bill was working w/ the Queen on?
