Awesome episode.

Pretty much everything.

to Chuck not being honest with Ellie, and not leaving Dolph around as a potential recurring villain.

at the shots of Yvonne legs while sexting.

to Olivia Munn's wooden acting, and not even looking remotely hot. Epic fail.

Very slow first half, but it picked up in the second half.

I agree that without Jeffster and Awesome this show isn't the same.

I was a bit disappointed with last night's episode. It felt very middle of the season type stuff to me and didn't bring it with a season opener pizzazz.

Not a fan of the direction the show's taking. And I absolutely hate the idea of the "Spy" More.

Wow. What a terrible episode. The show went from a funny, action filled program with great supporting characters to a cheesy green screen CGI feast. The "Spy" More is just dumb, they've essentially killed an entire set of great characters. This episode felt like a completely different show then the Chuck I feel in love with season one. Disappointing to say the least.

I liked it a lot and I'm willing to see where it goes.

The fact is that a show like this has to change because it wouldn't make sense to drag out the "will they or won't they" and the secret spy stuff for years without it getting old. And if they had just rebuilt the Buy More, staffed it with the same people and put Chuck back in there...well, that's just dumb.

I thought this ep was "off" too ... it just felt a bit forced and unfunny to me and the major action scenes were mostly off camera.

My wife -- who will usually stick with a TV show long after it's put on life support -- turned to me after the episode was over and declared that she's done with it. It was a fairly flat retread without much of a sense of humor about it.

Re: Chuck -- Season Premiere -- "Chuck versus the Anniversary" -- 09/20/10

this show might have run its course I'm afraid. hopefully we'll get the full 13 run and a satisfying ending.

update: Chuck started around where it finished last year (a 3.8 household rating — do not confuse these with 18-49 demographic which will come later).

Thought it was dull season opener as well.

Agreed on the acting, if you can even call it that. However when she came walking through my was occurring at an unstoppable pace.

Re: Chuck -- Season Premiere -- "Chuck versus the Anniversary" -- 09/20/10

I liked it except for Olivia Munn. Hate her as a "gamer" and don't like her as an "actor" either.

I agree that the storyline does need to evolve. If it were 4 seasons of "no one knows Chuck's a spy, and will he hook up with Walker?" storylines, people would be on here yelling "OMG just tell his sister already and OMG just hook up already". So I'm fine with them taking the show new places. For now. I thought there was definitely enough good stuff to keep me interested. Loved Dolph and loved Linda Hamilton as Chuck's Mom. Can't wait to find out what's going on there.

They definitely needed to take the plot to new places, but why didn't they show Chuck kick the asses of the 10 soldiers surrounding him? Last year they would show that.... now he flashes on menus and Apple IIe computer generated floor plans. Oh, and no funny (aside from the nod to Seinfeld -- Vandalay Industries) last night.

I re-watched the finale a couple weeks ago and I'm surprised they didn't bring up Morgan breaking his thumbs in the premier in some fashion.

Come on, that's stretching it. Morgan always brings teh funny. The intro with all the movie quotes? Morgan sexting Sarah? Trying to get Chuck to put baby lotion on? The bit about Russians trusting a guy with a beard?

I think the problem is too much reliance on Morgan for the funny bits and no so much from Chuck anymore.

Harry Dean revealing himself as a repo man wasn't a laugh-out-loud moment for you?

I loved this episode. The whole bit with Chuck and Morgan traveling the world and then being dubbed "master spies" was great.

Re: Chuck -- Season Premiere -- "Chuck versus the Anniversary" -- 09/20/10

Michael Carmichael = comedy gold. I thought the premiere was awesome. It did start slow (I was getting slightly worried about 20 minutes in) but then it turned into a classic Chuck episode. I liked the scene with Ellie at the end and don't mind the direction the story is taking. The 'Spy More' is kind of dumb but they couldn't just rehash the same stuff as before and I'm sure Jeffster will find a way to be a part of the show anyhow - I don't mind that them and Awesome sat out the premiere, we've got more episodes for them to pop up in.

I thought Lundgren was great and it was nice to see Linda Hamilton kicking ass again. People complaining that they cut away for Chuck kicking those guys asses - who cares? All it would have added was a 45 second fight we've seen hundreds of times before...sure we knew he'd come back on the radio, but I liked the audio gag and didn't think we were missing out on anything.... also, Sarah reaching for the phone was great - fantastic shot.

Although I prefer the origins of the series vs. the new direction, obviously they couldn't keep things the same forever. I remember when Larry Linville left MASH after a few seasons and he said you just can't keep doing the same thing. Eventually Lois found out about Superman on Lois and Clark. All things must change but I did like the humor in Chuck being the goofball trying to hide what he does.

They didn't show Chuck kicking ass to create some wonder about whether he could flash and to show Sarah and Casey's emotions thinking he got killed. I was OK with that.

I liked the episode. Yvonne's legs ... Although her makeup on her face was distracting (just how much stuff do they put on her?)

Lancaster was also looking pretty darn good.

Linda was surprisingly un-wrinkly for her age. Botox?

Levi does look awesome in a suit.

I liked that they didnt show Chuck kicking those 10 soldiers around; the fight scenes always turn out to be a bit anticlimactic.

I liked the Indiana Jones homage with the little buy more logo traveling from point to point around the world.

I loved when the General was talking about how they spared no expense in recreating the Buy More, because right behind her were boxes of HD DVD players...which have shwon up on the Buy More shelves before.

They really did spare no expense!

Re: Chuck -- Season Premiere -- "Chuck versus the Anniversary" -- 09/20/10

Did anyone else notice the date of the flashback at the beginning when Chuck's mom was reading 'lil Chuck a story was 1994?

Doesn't that seem off?

I could have sworn that during one of the flashbacks towards the end of last year when Chuck downloads the first intersect from his dad's home computer the year was 1984.

Indiana Jones didn't invent that.
