Besides Samberg's Digital Shorts, the only other person I really liked was Sudekis. I hope he proves me wrong and continues acting in movies. Maybe he could turn in to star potential.
Kristen Wiig must be concocting Bridesmaids 2 or something.

With their successes in movies, I expected Wiig and Sudeikis to be gone this season.
I can't imagine what Samberg is rushing off to do.

Those were 3 of the best actors on SNL, that sucks but it isn't surprising at all.
Sudekis has been showing up in everything the last year (Hall Pass, Horrible Bosses, Good Old Fashioned Orgy, Eastbound and Down, etc; ) was frankly kind of surprised he was still on SNL, Wiig will have a long career if she sticks with Apatow, and frankly I think Samberg saved SNLs ass a few years with his digital shorts.
Samberg is playing Sandler's son in an upcoming movie (from the director of Sex Drive and writer on Happy Endings), he probably got a nice paycheck and decided to pursue other things.

I know most people are tired of Wiig, and rightfully so, but that leaves a pretty big void in the female SNL cast...

I am hoping this enables Abbie Elliot to move upward into the void she leaves. I like Wiig at times, but for every good character she does, there are at least five Gillys. I think she's better in her movie roles anyway.

That a big hit losing all 3 of them, but I'd rather see them all move on. Not sure what Samberg is moving on to, though. I'll miss those Digital Shorts.

Sad to see some of them go, but it will also give some of the other and new cast-mates a chance to step up. So all's good IMO.

Surprised Fred Armisen is staying since he could probably break out if he left.
Finally Wiig is gone but it is 7 years too late! I think the only funny and memorable thing she did on SNL was playing Elizabeth Hasselback on the View.

Yeah, I won't miss Wiig at all.
Agreed that for every good sketch was in, there would be about ten Gillys or Target Ladies. Lame, unfunny characters based around a quirk that she would drive into the fucking ground for five minutes.

But SNL's always been like that. It's always been more miss than hit, and all you remember are the good parts in your hazy memories from 25 years ago.

And yeah, I've never liked Wiig, maybe that's why I wasn't able to enjoy Bridesmaids. I actually find her a little bit attractive, I know, I know, but her acting, or characters, are just annoying.

Samberg is going to continue doing his Loneluy Island thing and attempt to have an acting career. As long as we get a new LI CDs every couple of years I'll be happy.

Hot Rod was pretty awesome.
Always found this amusing since it's from a source I wouldn't expect:
"Rod is played by Andy Samberg from "Saturday Night Live," who on the basis of this film, I think, could become a very big star. With a trusting face, a gigantic smile and an occasional Burt Reynolds mustache, he has the innocence of many great comedians who always seem surprised at the way their schemes turn out; like Buster Keaton, he springs up after every disaster, ready for more, hoping to get rich, win the girl, be universally acclaimed, and so on." -Roger Ebert (Hot Rod Review)
