So is Vic's end-of-the-show revelation: "they found me" relating to something in her background we've seen earlier? Sorry, but it isn't ringing a bell with me...

I'm sure there's a good reason she split from Philidelphia for remote Wyoming. Most likely witness protection.

If I remember correctly
Spoiler:
she had brought down some of the major mob figures in Philly

Re: Longmire - Season Two Discussion Thread (Debuts May 27th)

Just saw Monday's episode tonight.

The reveal at the end about Vic and "The found me" wasn't ringing a bell. I don't recall Vic talking about her past much other than she used to be a Philly Cop.

The case of the week with the cattle thieves and the vengeful detective was alright. Nothing really that interesting to get excited about.

Once again, it all seems to fall into place all so easily. Just once I want Walt to fail or for some misdirection. It seems like every character introduced eventually is involved.

nice to see Cady return home.

One of my favorite parts of the show is Walt and Cady's relationship.

at Vic getting her assed kicked by the sister of the victim.

Honestly I was a little surprised the boyfriend's mom was the killer. But you don't bring in a pretty notable guest star like Gabrielle Carteris to do nothing.

I'm just starting my S2 run of Longmire and it's been great so far. You're always a bit worried on how things will change between seasons, but they've got a great formula and it just seems to work. I really enjoy how this isn't just CSI:Wyoming and it seems to rely on real detective work.

I did enjoy seeing Ferg give Walt a few clues in the Basque episode, even repeating Ferg about the Elderberries.

THAT'S who that was. I knew I knew her but had no idea where from. Can't believe she's 52...

Re: Longmire - Season Two Discussion Thread (Debuts May 27th)

Monday's episode was pretty good. This show is always consistent.

The case of the week was interesting, yet strange. I liked how Walt turned the tables on Aaron to get him to confess to killing his sister.

Enjoyed seeing the debate between Branch and Walt. I think this is really going to heat up as the weeks progress.

Surprised that Cady turned off the tape recorder at the end when Cassandra asked what was going to happen to Walt. I liked Walt's answer..."I guess we'll find out soon enough"

I really like this show, but Walt should definitely lose the election. That county must have the highest murder rate per capita in the history of the United States. There must be hundreds of murders per year in a county of probably a few thousand. Would be horrifying to live there! Really good chance you'll end up murdered. I live in a city of 100,000 and there is an average of 1-2 murders per year. I know it's a TV show but it's funny how many people get killed in small towns on TV.

I wonder if their paper would mention that Branch dove under the table while Walt assessed the situation and took down the Contrarian Indian.

Well that was interesting. Lou carried the episode well, including the one bit of comedy with his girlfriend. Nice misdirect on Moretti's old cop friend. But all the signs are there that he's out of the police force because of something she did. I think he'll be back. BTW, is her number of open buttons on the shirt regulation? Damn.

And boy did Madchen Amick look hot.

Good to see Lou get more air time. Especially loved his line of "I am not a good judge of hotness".

On the subject of last week's episiode, which I didn't comment on, I suspected that the crazy Indian was Gary Farmer but it wasn't until last night I saw in IMDB it was him. Gary is all kinds of awesome, probably my favorite Indian actor ever since I saw him in 'Smoke Signals.' I wish he'd lose weight, he's in for a rough life at that poundage.

Something tells me that confession Walt got wouldn't hold up well in court.

Interesting twist involving Walt and his wife's killer.

Exact same thing I told my wife. I did enjoy seeing him do that though. At least(imo) I feel that this season has gotten better over the last couple of episodes.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle the election storyline, especially with Branch doing side deals in exchange for votes.

Re: Longmire - Season Two Discussion Thread (Debuts May 27th)

I love this show but am ready for the Branch/election thing to be brought to an end (though I assume it'll last the rest of the season). I'd rather get more than just a few crumbs of the compelling stories (Walt/Denver and Vic/"they found me") and less Walt/Branch bickering.

Re: Longmire - Season Two Discussion Thread (Debuts May 27th)

Well Wikipedia says the next episode will be "Tuscan Red," then after that is "Election Day," plus one last episode. So it looks like we will know about the election soon enough. I'm just glad they don't do it as a season cliffhanger. That would suck hard.

How often do Sheriffs have to run for office? This whole idea strikes me as ludicrous that police need to worry about campaigning.

around here it's 4 years and they're totally administrative like any other politician. the sheriffs themselves aren't going around doing actual police work

I could see a small population rural county needing the sheriff to still do police work though

Here the Sheriff AND Police Chief are elected officials, which I believe is unusual at least for a police chief.

Re: Longmire - Season Two Discussion Thread (Debuts May 27th)

Just did a marathon to catch up on Longmire since I was traveling for a while so here are some thoughts:

  • Enjoyed all of the episodes, but it's definitely time for the election to be over. Can't see Walt winning at this point, but Branch could pull out, or some dirt could come up on him. My guess is that if Walt loses, he becomes the head of security at the casino, possibly taking everyone (but Branch with him). Most shows wouldn't do this, but I think this one could easily pull it off. If he wins, Branch would be the head of security.

  • Still didn't find out much on the Moretti thing, but instead of the mob, I'm thinking that she helped take down some dirty cops. If she was in Witness Protection, they would have given her a different name, and her old cop friend called her Moretti.

  • Curious to see how the whole Henry thing plays out as well, since I can't really see him as a cold blooded murderer, regardless of the situation.

  • Anyone else notice John Henlsey (Matt from Nip/Tuck) as Zip in the episode a couple of weeks back? I've noticed more prominent guest stars lately, like Hensley, Amick, Andrea Roth, etc.

Does A&E have an OnDemand (Time Warner Cable) channel? I just finished season 1 on Netflix and can't wait to start on season 2...I scrolled thru the channel list and can't seem to find anything

I can't see Branch winning. He's so tainted now people would be totally put off by a corrupt sheriff like that.

Walt really can't do anything to stop people from killing each other but his 100% closure rate should be enough to get him a win.

Really am enjoying the season so far.
