Supergirl will go on hiatus for 9 weeks starting February 12th. It will return April 16th and air into the summer.
Legends of Tomorrow is taking over the timeslot until it's season wraps.

Sure, the live ratings will probably drop going into June. It's obvious on that because people watch less live TV once summer hits. But in the grander scheme of things, it doesn't really matter. Supergirl will get at least a 5 season run IMO or until the Netflix deal with The CW expires.
Legends of Tomorrow needed a timeslot to finish it's season since Black Lightning has 13 episodes to air and from looking at The CW's schedule, there was really no good place to put it.

Supergirl isn't going anywhere. It has a very rich Netflix deal with The CW along with the rest of the Arrowverse shows.

The guy at TV Line brought up a good point. The Supergirl delay may have something to do with the Showrunner getting fired.

Flash is their most successful DC show. Maybe they made the choice to concentrate on not delaying Flash which puts them a little behind on Supergirl.

I know what you're saying and I agree with you, but the networks, -cable included, -put a lot of stock in their first showing of any particular episode. Even most of the premium networks now start their episodic shows on Sunday. They all seem to believe that there are a lot of people who watch "live" TV and that it's important.

This is what they should do for this, LoT, Black Lightening, etc. Arrow and Flash can be the anchors, but the rest can have short runs. They can then have more Arrow-verse shows going throughout the year.

I would think a lot of shows are taking a hiatus/airing reruns in February so as not to compete against the Olympics. Supergirl's just lasts a bit longer.
