Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

Considering Halo lore I’m surprised they killed one of those characters.

Half way through the season and we are still not on a Halo. I don’t mind a slow burn but they’ve waste a ton of time with the deception / Chief’s nuts plot line. I don’t think it adds anything to the story because we already know the UNSC is Machiavellian.

Wow, newest episode was ALL rock n roll!

It's essentially the "300" episode and they even mentioned "Thermopile."

This episode was better than I thought it would be, I figured there would be a let down after last week.

I liked Master Chief’s speech at the funeral and Cortana projecting Halo to save Makee from the Arbiter.

Kwan is less annoying this year I’m guessing her vision was foreshadowing
Spoiler:
The arrival of The Flood

Isn't she the protector of the portal to Halo? That planet is glasses so she's out of a job.

I’m only two episodes in, but enjoying season 2. I can’t believe the entire season is only 8 episodes.

I don’t know enough about the Halo lore - is there any way the series ends with becoming the beginning of the original Halo?

No. The Halos are ancient. Like the birth (or rebirth) of life in the universe ancient.

If you mean the game then yes. We haven't gotten to the first game yet. In this loose timeline we are at the prequel game Halo:Reach.

Kai, Kai, Kai...Sigh. But it seems she's kinda dopin' things out. Maybe she's not a total loss...

Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

Agreed. However, my suspicion is

Spoiler:
she’ll sacrifice herself to save the Chief, and he’ll be solo.

Now I am wondering if the season is going to end with Chief on Halo. I suppose he’d have to get Cortana back though.

It seems super convenient that the UNSC would nab Kessler from that ship. Not only know who he is, but take him off (for conversion?).

Just a small gripe, but I hate the inside the helmet camera shots. It just looks dumb.

I’m enjoying this season a lot more than I thought I would.

I mean, it's understandable. Catering to fans of the games, which are first person shooters

Looking forward to next week.

Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

I like the Soren character, but the plot just seems random. At least Kwan became central to the plot and was like, “You all know nothing.”

I know some of you don’t like Acheson, but he was great in The Vampire Diaries. Beyond menacing. Here, you can sense his anguish, but he doesn’t come off a bit like a wet blanket.

I will say I feel like I missed something. When did they introduce the Halo and the fact everybody knows what it is?! I played some of the games, but am well lost.

It’s deviated so much from the games that’s they are barely a rough guideline. For the series the first time we see the Halo is when John and Makee share a vision after touching the keystones. That’s after we learn they are powerful and dangerous from Covenant lore.

Watched the s2 Finale last night. Maybe I was tired but it seemed all over the place. Perhaps I need to watch it again.

I didn't care for it much. Seemed like a cast purge going into the next season. Hell the whole season did. This season had some high points but I think it was pretty mediocre from a story standpoint.

Yeah, more of an intro to season 3 I suppose. Has it already been renewed? Because something clearly happened between John entering and the final scene.

Not sad about Parangosky. She was a piece of work.

Flood creepy.

No word yet on renewal. Going to be very pissed off if it isn’t.

Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

I enjoyed this season more than the first. The Chief stuff was great.

I don’t get what role Kwan plays and if the old woman is connected to the forerunner or flood.

Viserys Targaryen is voicing Guilty Spark

Dual wielding needlers
