The gimmick was awful but he was clearly talented, even as a kid watching it back then. Had some amazing matches over the years.

Re: Dark Side of the Ring on Viceland

I know it sounds bad but I hated Adorable Adrian Adonis as a kid since he wore makeup and acted feminine.

It worked and got him over as a heel.

Nice to know his backstory and learn more about him.

Sad he died at such a early age.

It was nice to hear he treated his family well with all the demons he had with drug use.

Loved the original Doink. If you want to see a few fun matches from him there are two tv matches against Mr Perfect in this video fromMay 1993. They’re classics compared to the average tv match of the time.

Sad what happened to Bam Bam Bigelow

I remember his big push in the WWF back in the 80's and I don't think he ever got a title match with Hogan or one that counted in a big ppv.

Re: Dark Side of the Ring on Viceland

Bam Bam had the Barry Windham problem, he couldn't stay in one place. He started getting a push in the NWA and jumped to WWF where he was pushed and then he jumped back to WCW.

The Bash at the Beach episode was good.

I did chuckle at the line about Hogan calling a local Tampa radio station because of what his involvement with that show led to

Anywhere to stream quality versions of these episodes for free? Amazon typically messes with the image before yanking them altogether.

Re: Dark Side of the Ring on Viceland

I have found all the season's episodes on YouTube. I was never a WCW fan but I enjoyed hearing from Jeff Jarrett in the Bash at the Beach episode. He came across really well and he knew how embarrassing the whole incident was.

I did not follow the Rockers in the 90's but assumed Jannetty was the soft spoken humble guy compared to the loud and obnoxious HBK but guess I was wrong.

Is this the end of the season or is there a backend of 10 or more episodes that will air in the future?

I tried watching the Bash episode but the framing was all jumbled and the audio out of sync with the picture.

That Marty Jannetty episode was just hard to watch. He really screwed up his life.

Season 5 starts on March 5th. I was kind of afraid they might run out of topics but I'll probably be interested in the Sandman and Buff Bagwell episodes.
The full list of topics is as follows:
  • The Sandman
  • Earthquake
  • Harley Race
  • Buff Bagwell
  • Brutus Beefcake
  • Chris Adams
  • Sensational Sherri
  • Terry Gordy
  • Black Saturday
  • Chris Colt

I would have liked to have seen the episode about Mike Awesome but apparently his ex-wife put the kibosh on it.

Rob Van Dam talked about Mike Awesome as a subject for an episode and you're right his ex wife stopped it from happening. If i remember his story right he hung himself over getting divorced.

Supposedly from what RVD said it sounds like he was more upset over not seeing his kids. I don’t think it was as much to do with his ex-wife.

YouTube TV doesn't offer Vice. Is there anywhere else these episodes can be seen? I hate I will miss this season if there's not.

Re: Dark Side of the Ring on Viceland

In the past episodes have been available to purchase on Amazon for I think $2 each the day after airing. They end up on Hulu but it takes about 6 months after the season ends.

Why not just ignore her and just show the episode?

A nice episode on John Tenta or Earthquake

I was not a fan but seemed like a nice and cool guy and a good worker

I was bored to tears with the Earthquake episode. I think I got 10 minutes in maybe. I don't know if I'll go back and revisit this one.
