I think most of the budget went into the voice cast with animation being an afterthought. This is why Hollywood can't churn out productions anywhere nearly as fast as Japan's anime industry.

I can't believe I not only like this show, but actually love it. When I first started watching I couldn't stand how generic and cheesy it was, but then, it just grows on you to the point you go all in on.

Steven Yeun is literally the perfect voice for Invincible.

Omni-man is an awesome fighter to use in Mortal Kombat one as well.

I really wish they had more episodes per season. It's not bad but the show would have more depth with better character building.

My social media feeds have so much Viltrumite content its insane. I haven't watched this show yet, but it feels like the universe is trying to get me to watch and/read the comic.

I just started the new season.
Confused about what that stuff was with Invincible and Omni Man in the beginning.
A different dimension I guess?

Yeah. Later episodes explain more about the multiverse.

Invincible Season 2 returns March 14! Mark goes back to college, reads his dad's books, and nothing bad happens to him or his family. This is a very official synopsis.

episode 5 was pretty good, but if Mark is so invincible, why does he get the shit beat out of him almost every episode? lol
i thought the line that Robot (Zachary Quinto) said about the ship not being from Star Trek was pretty funny.

I thought that's part of the point, that he's not Invincible.

Reminds me of New Mutants where Cannonball is "nigh invulnerable" while he's blasting but that gives just enough leeway for stronger people to beat the crap out of him.

The show just seems to have a fetish for brutally beating Mark up. Almost torture porn if we're being honest. The animators actually detail the graphic violence while leaving major things like character design and backgrounds subpar. It's a choice, I guess.

That being said, the fight between the Serpent Society(?) and the b-team of heroes was a complete destruction worth catching. Almost made up for all the pointless girlfriend/mother/baby brother melodrama.

I don’t know what point that would be other then to just be a running gag throughout the series.

Never read the books past the first dozen maybe so I don’t remember that being in the books.

Re: Invincible (Amazon): animated series based on the comic by Robert Kirkman

Well that was a disappointing season finale, making the mid-season delay even more questionable. Doubt we get more Invincible before early 2026 at this rate. They seem really committed to 8 episodes of 45 minutes, but pacing and storytelling would be far improved with 10-12 episodes of 30 minutes.

I think when they write the postmortem on this series its biggest problem was throwing the entire budget at the Hollywood voice actors and soundtrack.

I thought different. The season just sort of meandered, and this was all sorts of plot advancement. Some good stuff. Loves the universal jumping.

That’s more inline with my take. A lot of world building for future season. The main problem I had with the finale was if you have three time machine why not save the guy that was trying to make all multiverse better? The resolution seemed like a deus ex machina.

Re: Invincible (Amazon): animated series based on the comic by Robert Kirkman

The episode itself was fine but felt more like a random mid-season stopping point. Multiverse stuff was okay but the way they save Mark felt like a deus ex machina.

This show loves giving people black eyes.
