FX’s Pistol is a six-episode limited series about a rock and roll revolution, available exclusively on Hulu. The furious, raging storm at the center of this revolution are the Sex Pistols - and at the center of this series is Sex Pistols’ founding member and guitarist, Steve Jones. Jones’ hilarious, emotional and at times heart-breaking journey guides us through a kaleidoscopic telling of three of the most epic, chaotic and mucus-spattered years in the history of music.

Things like this piss me off. Not the content, as I'd love to watch it, but the fact that it's an FX production, and it's not available on FX, at least in Canada.
We can only get it here, via Disney+, which I have zero interest in paying for.
Although, looking at the post above, you U.S. folks only get it on Hulu?

Oh my. I'm a little over 1/2-way through the 1st ep. Highly romanticized, gauzy, cliffs-notes version of the story. Very antithetical to the ethos. Don't know if I'll continue. Bollocks.
ETA: Didn't know how sucky Jones' childhood was. Giving ep 2 a go.

I watched 2 eps last night. Not feeling this at all. I think I'd rather watch a mini-series about Chrissie Hynde.

I made it to halfway through episode 2. When they were 'jamming' on No Fun, and Lydon really started 'feeling it' and you could just TELL they were going to become ROCK LEGENDS I'd had enough. I get the nostalgia but damn, Steve Jones is only 66. Where's the old fire? Maybe Cook still has some integrity ....

My only cool story about the Sex Pistols is that when I was in London, I accidentally ate in the pub where they got their start. Is The Spice of Life featured in the show?

I watched the first episode on Disney+, I liked it enough to keep watching. I've never read Jones' book which this is apparently based on, but I did read Lydon's book. The best book IMO about the Pistols, and the UK punk scene in general, is England's Dreaming by Jon Savage, if anyone wants a more accurate account of the formation of the band.

I gave into the Hollywood gloss and have kept watching. It's entertaining, but who knew Steve Jones story was pretty much only about having sex with Chrissy Hynde?
it's the "Gee Malky, you mean punk rock is going to revolutionize music?" type dialog that is hard to swallow.

I enjoyed this for what it was, even if it was a bit cheesy at points - the guy playing Johnny Rotten though kept giving me flashback to Rik:

I finally got around to watching this and enjoyed it. I was really into the Sex Pistols in my teenage years; really liked Sid & Nancy the movie. The guy who plays Steve Jones is in the new Royal Hotel movie.
