Watched the scene of the crew on the TNG bridge. Very cool to see. I’m intrigued as to the explanation of being there (still haven’t e watched any episodes). I’ll need to watch the season at some point.

I mean shouldn't they just take the Klingon Bird of Prey from Star Trek IV and go back in time so that they can fix Picard?

I agree with them that one big negative for this episode is that Riker and Troi pulled a Jin and Sun and totally forgot they have a kid. They even go out of their way to mention Jack and the LaForge sisters as being part of this family but forget about their own daughter? Who, supposedly is at Starfleet academy and 100% now a Borg.
Does kind of make me wonder just how extensive the transporter rewriting everyone's genetic code is. Did they just do this to the transporters on the starships? In the rare instances we see a street level view of Earth, it looks like civilians use transporters a lot, so it's probably safe to assume that the vast majority of the population uses transporters on a regular basis. And that also means the Changelings would have had to mucked around with a lot of transporters. It would seem to make more sense for them to just mess with the transporters on the ships, and not every single transporter in use across the Federation, so they can cripple the fleet and seize control of it.
I'm guessing that Jack will do something and either take control of the Borg Queen or become a new Borg Queen and deus ex machina everyone back to normal.

I’m sure they didn’t make more sets, so unfortunately that means Geordi probably won’t be going to engineering, and we likely won’t have a “Coolant leak.” If we do, make sure to take a shot or get bingo credit.

I'd guess she wasn't mentioned because she wasn't featured in this season. It seems callous, but if she isn't going to make an appearance, if they remind us that she's still out there, then it will seem like she'll have some kind of role to play in the finale.

Like when we're first introduced to Jack, a young male that's been on the run with Beverly for 20+ years.
Audience: Oh they're going to make him Jean Luc's son
Riker: Calls it out immediately: You don't see what I'm seeing? Seriously you don't see it?
Riker and Picard: We're just going to waltz on the nearest starship and order them to take us where they want.
Audience: Really? They expect us to believe that's going to work? I guess he's Jean Luc Picard..
Shaw: Nope not doing that. AND I'm going to make you sleep on bunk beds on Lower Deck quarters.
Audience: Why is Shaw such a dick to Picard and Riker.
Shaw: I was there at Wolf 359
Audience: ....well that tracks.

I have to admit I let out a slight groan when they revealed they're doing the Borg again.

Yeah, the Borg are played out. They’ve done so much with that already in terms of Picard being captured and assimilated into Locutus and his trauma.

the Borg is the biggest/scariest baddy for the Federation in the Next Generation. makes sense to me that this is the big bad for Picard's swansong.
plus the way they've been assimilating thing time around was pretty tricky...
just go with it and enjoy (the end of) the ride.

I’m holding out hope that they’re going to do something really off the wall with The Borg to make it interesting.

I mean, certainly it has to be some sort of reversal situation. they aren't going to kill off or leave every person in the universe who has ever transported under 25 as a nu-Borg.
there's also no way they destroy the Enterprise D or Data again.
I'm hoping everyone makes it out alive, although suspect Picard might be the one who has to somehow sacrifice himself to save the Federation with an end shot of a funeral parade of ships lead by the Enterprise D and F flying over the newly constructed USS Picard.

Yeah it was mentioned that Matalas wants to do a Star Trek Legacy series that would continue on this universe. But Paramount hasn't really shown the interest to do it.

Just because it is the series finale now does not mean it can't come back, TNG series finale 30 years ago yet here we are back on the Enterprise D. Other shows like Night Court, Law and Order, Quantum Leap, Frasier ended many years ago, saying series finale in the age of reboots means almost nothing

That weapon that Vadic had was basically a giant transporter. If they got hold of one of those, they could tweak it to recode dna back to normal and then trick or force all the ships to go through it.

Maybe they can wrap things up by having a Kelpien throw an interstellar temper tantrum that causes all of the Borg nanotechnology to explode.
What? It’s been done?
