As much as I love the Borg, The Queen, and the Lore they really need to give them a rest for a good 10 to 15+ years.

It makes sense that Q returned. He's a Q....But it still shits on the emotional moment with him and Picard from s2. Hell, that was one of the few thing S2 haters liked.

A really good interview with Matalas about the finale. He says he quickly shot the post credits in about 20 minutes because they literally had no money left.
He says he talks to Alex Kurtzman all the time about the future. But he doesn’t want to rush into a spin-off.
And the Poker scene was a callback to the TV series finale.

So there are multiple physical Queens but at the same time...they are all the same Queen right? We know they exists, or at least can see different time lines..

The Ent-D flying in over Picard, Crusher, Ryker, and Worf to save the day was swell 👍🏿

It’s okay to be predictable if the character beats are extra good and they absolutely were here.
This is how you pay tribute to a multi decade legacy and still set the stage for new things.
And if we don’t get that spinoff it will be a travesty of missed opportunities.

The finale spent way too much time on fanservice and laying the groundwork for potential spinoffs, and felt very choppy as a result. A disappointing end to a vastly improved season.

I was bothered a little by Geordi not having faith in Data to pilot the ship through the cube, but he has no problem with Data being the only one to make the speedy calculations necessary to retake the Titan. I did like that Data was pissed about it.
Again, the Worf and Riker stuff was gold.

I always thought there was a queen in each cube , but the cube/queen from First Contact/Voyager finale was the main queen(Alice Krige). But I also never really gave it lot of thought.

It's true as much as I enjoyed it. This was almost like cookie cutter trek. I think the thing that bothered me the most is the freaking musical cues they took from 35 different series/movies like jesus give us a break at some point WE GET IT lol.

Robert Meyer Burnett saw an early cut of the entire season before all the effects were done. He said in the early cut of the finale Worf made a dick joke and Stewart was against it, so Matalas deleted it. He said Stewart thought the joke was unnecessary.
By the way, WTF happened to poor Laris? After episode 1, she was completely forgotten.

Sure it leaned heavily on nostalgia and at times felt like a greatest hits of past Trek but it was a treat to see the cast brought back together again in a way that recaptured the chemistry and emotion. It was a satisfying end to the TNG and I'm glad none of the main crew was killed off.

I did some internet searching and nothing indicates it was destroyed. Additionally, I thought Frderation day was the ship getting launched and christened. Turns out (I guess via STO) it had already been in service and was set to be decommissioned.
What I found online said after the Borg situation it was decommissioned as planned and replaced by the G.

Except that if the Enterprise was able to fly over them like that, they should have been dead since they would have been exposed to the elements of space without oxygen, a space suit, etc.

I'm still processing this, I'm not feeling massive overwhelmed but I do feel utterly satisfied. Anything folks might call fanservice I felt was perfectly placed callbacks to a group of people that have become like family to so many people over the years.
