Tracker (CBS) -- S: Justin Hartley -- Based on the book series by Jeffery Deaver -- Premieres 2/11/24

TRACKER stars Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family. The series is based on the bestselling novel "The Never Game" by Jeffery Deaver.

TRACKER is Hartley's first big project since the massive success of "This Is Us."

TRACKER premieres Sunday, Feb. 11 following SUPER BOWL LVIII on the CBS Television Network and available on the CBS app and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*.

Justin Hartley, Ken Olin, Elwood Reid, Ben Winters and Jeffrey Deaver serve as executive producers.

This is CBS' big post-Super Bowl show.

Looks cool. I like Hartley and an outdoors action series sounds fun.

Apparently this is based on a book series with the character Hartley is playing.

"Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist..."

Aren't all lone-wolf survivalists named Colter Shaw?

Full trailer for Tracker.

This looks fun. But, I won't do the padding my DVR thing after the Super Bowl. That's so 2008 I'll just watch it on Paramount + the next day.

I always assumed that if I was ever to become a lone wolf survivalist that I would be required to change my name to Colter Shaw.

This premieres Sunday after the Super Bowl.

If you don't have Paramount +, you'll probably have to pad your DVR or YouTube TV recording by at least 30 minutes if you don't plan to watch it live.

Unfortunately there's no way to pad your YouTube TV recording. YouTube usually goes in and corrects the recording later on so you'll have the full show. You could record the next show that's on after Tracker, but that's about all you can do.

Well, if you're DVRing this, the SB broadcast is already running 1 hour and 10 minutes over.

Edit: Starting at 11:15pm ET/8:15pm PT

I guess I might as well watch it live.

Five minutes in, this is super CBS. The shooting and lighting, the acting style, the writing. If you like broad procedurals with a brooding lead who has a wisecracking backup team, this is for you.

Re: Tracker (CBS) -- S: Justin Hartley -- Based on the book series by Jeffery Deaver -- Premieres 2/11/24

Alright. It was not bad. A pretty standard missing persons plot. Hartley is charming and likeable. I guess there is a underlying plot with his brother. I was not surprised Colter hooked up with the cop.

The lawyer who helped Colter, Reenie, is pretty cute and seems like she's a recurring character based on the next promo.

One scene did annoy me, the scene with Colter and the kid hanging from the truck. That was totally overwritten. Too much chatter for that situation they were in.

At least this seems like an outdoors driven show and they won't be stuck on a sound stage. This Pilot was filmed almost 1 year ago and they didn't start filming until after the strikes, so we'll see how different the show looks being filmed many months later.

Ugh. I hated this. But I hate most CBS shows. And no doubt it will do just fine and be on the air for 11 years. Couldn't they find a better way to put Justin Hartley on the air in a show that gives him a chance to look cool and show off his chest and abs once a week?

I guess this is what happens when you dont quite have the looks and charisma to be a movie star but you've paid your dues and you're of a certain age and been on a hit show already so you're recognizable to a large enough viewing demographic.

The Super Bowl, which was the lead-in for Tracker, had 120M viewers last night. My guess is less than 1/4 stayed on for Tracker. The ratings have not been released yet. Tracker came on really late in the East, 11:15pm, when most had to go to bed.

I’m watching it right now on P+

It’s not bad, mostly by the numbers procedural case of the week except he’s looking for missing people.

Hartley is the draw and his lawyer friend and the female cop might be good too.

This was a predictable but still enjoyable to watch show. I am in for however long it is on the air.

I like the cast. Paniz Zade is the cute cop, and IMDB says only in 1 ep, but maybe that will change.I have seen her in some Lifetime/Hallmark films.

Nice to see Deadwood alum Robin Weigart as part of his crew.

The lawyer chick was also in a few episodes of The Lincoln Lawyer.

The premise is that he is always moving on to another job, so he just rolls into town dragging his fuck wagon behind him, then he loves em and leaves em.

First episode was decent. I'm having trouble seeing the actor as the actor though. Since Kevin from TiU was an accomplished actor, I see this character as being played by Kevin, not Justin.

Maybe that will be the big reveal at the end of the season, when Randall comes to visit.

3rd episode airs Sunday.

I just watched the 2nd episode today. It was pretty good. Colter had to find a kid that was seduced by a cult. It was predictable, but entertaining. As I said before, I like that the premise of this show has Hatley moving around from city to city.

I seem to be losing more interest with each episode. I'm afraid that this could run 10 years or something on CBS, so I might need to drop out soon. Looks like it's off this coming week for the Oscars at least.

Right, the last thing you need is more content to your 20 years of backlog

I think it's a pretty good adventure of the week show. At least it's not the typical crime series.

I'll stick with it until the eventual drop in writing quality which more often than not happens with these shows after their first year.
