I cannot wait for Lorne Michaels to exit this slow sinking ship and bring some new blood in to save it. And hope Bowen Yang is the first to go.

The trump Easter sketch was sort of amusing, but didn't feel like it went far enough. He should have gotten struck by lightning, or the Bible in his hand burst into flames.
The musical guest was fucking awful. Do people really enjoy the autotune garbage?
Another dud from Please Don't Destroy. Are they running out of ideas?
The game show, with the guy who might want to murder his wife, was sort of funny, but it just sort of ended without any kind of pay-off, like showing her friend in the audience.
The immigrant dads, the litterbox coach, the homicide cops, and the NPR sketches were all forgettable (even with the litterbox stuff).
Sherman as the Flaco's widow was the highlight. (I suspect the owl is a much bigger story in New York than the rest of the country, and a lot of viewers are left scratching their heads over all of the references to it.)

I zone out and know I will be bored when they open with a Trump sketch.
Ramy used all the material from his HBO special for the monologue. Maybe he wanted to put more time in the sketches than come up with new material though maybe the Trans president was something new?
Bowen Yang only appeared in the NPR sketch.
It seemed half of the cast was not used or took the night off for Easter weekend since Chloe Fineman only appeared in one sketch and WU and Heidi Gardner with two sketches.
I admit I cracked up when Dismukes at the very end said he should have ordered delivery

No idea who this comedian is either but I don't consider myself to be on the bleeding edge of comedy.
It was pretty shocking to listen to his monologue and what he was saying and gauge it against the audience reactions.
I expected the pro Palestine/anti Israel cheering section because it's pretty fashionable among 20 somethings in NYC to look at Israel as the worlds biggest terrorist right now. I figure this is because they have not been alive long enough to know all the horrors committed against Israel by Arab countries over the last 50 years.
But to hear a NYC based audience cheering for Ramadan and the Muslim religion made my jaw drop. 22 years after 9/11 and the youth of today think it's cool to be a Muslim??? No offense to the Muslim religion but something didn't sit right with me about that....

From his Wikipedia page:
In a February 2024 interview, Youssef told Vanity Fair that his art has often taken him to Palestine, including to perform stand-up comedy in 2014 and in the third season of Ramy.
In 2023, Youssef toured his comedy show "More Feelings" and announced that proceeds from the final 12 nights would raise funds for Gaza through American Near East Refugee Aid. His "More Feelings" Palestine-fundraising show on December 8, 2023 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music drew headlines, when celebrities including Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez attended.
On March 30, 2024, Youssef hosted SNL for the first time.

In fact, it was the conventional wisdom coming from the left and center of American politics that only right wing bigots would conflate all Muslims with Al Qaeda.

The only point in the episode when I laughed was when Flakos Widow (Sarah Sherman) said that Colin knows what its like to be married to a celebrity that can do it with whomever they want and tried to fist bump him.
Not a good ep but he tried.
And as a fan of Tiny Desk Concert, I found that sketch annoying.

Ramy has a pretty big TV show on HULU and won a Best Actor-Comedy Golden Globe for it a couple of years ago.
This episode was pretty bad though I did find the Newlywed Game bit a little amusing.

The only time I've ever liked something Travis Scott has done was his collaboration with Post Malone and Ozzy Osborne titled "Take What You Want."
And a pretty cutting edge event that happened in 2021 that got him on my radar, was when he held a "concert event" inside Fortnite:

I was out Saturday night, had to DVR it and watch it Sunday. Took almost 90 minutes for me to get a laugh, but it was in the NPR sketch when they said that Bowen Yang's character had gone to "SUNY Newark".
Growing up in NY but also spending a lot of time in New Jersey, I found that funny.

I heard the name Ramy Youssef from somewhere before, but didn't know what he did. Looked at his biography and I didn't see him in anything before.
Normally the host starts their opening monologue by at least saying "thank you"... and "it's good to be here" or something to that effect - even if they don't try to plug anything they're currently doing. Unless I missed it, I think Youssef just jumped into his material without saying anything. Kinda weird. Didn't find his monologue funny.
The MG is horrible. The episode wasn't very good.

Is this forum too middle aged and white to openly admit the "Immigrant Dads Show" was fuckin' hilarious? Was it that yall had already given up on the ep by that point or is this simply a cultural disconnect?
