get the warranty... i did from ebgames (although, i think it is somewhat bogus). the machine comes w/ a 90 warranty; the 2 year warranty i purchased for $35 is concurrent so it's really a 1 year and 9 months deal.

I picked mine up from Best Buy. I took in the target add for the xtra controller (for my guests)...and they honored it.

Then I got 25% off my high-def pack.

My local EB had the following bundle "offer": Buy the bundle, dvd kit, and 2 games and get back $30 from Microsoft for the DVD kit and get back a $30 voucher from EB. I have serious doubts that MS would honor the rebate due to the SKU differences and a $30 buck voucher for 2 full-price games plus a DVD kit just ain't wuth it ta me.

milpool - that deal should be for just the system, not the new bundle.

yes, i confirmed that (although i haven't received the gift card yet).

1. system + dvd remote + 2 games (1 of 4 + any other game)
2. new limited system + dvd remote + halo, etc...

That's what I thought. The ad/form EB showed me did not have the new bundle pictured on it, and that is why I think MS will not honor the DVD kit rebate.

yes, you're right. the dvd kit rebate is not going to be honored for the limited set...

update: i sent the rebate in anyway, and received the check today. so YMMV.

Didn't read through the whole thing to see if this has been posted yet... but in one of the silliest moves I've seen in a while, KB has an xbox deal with the bundle thinger. Buy an xbox and you get a free DVD. Now, you may be thinking big deal... but wait till you see what the DVD is.

"On the Line" starring Lance Bass... I haven't seen it, but suffice to say it's a 'love story' that involves N'Sync with Brittany Spears music and a buncha other mess like that. I'm actually embarassed to give the thing out, thankfully we haven't had to at my store yet since we have no xboxes left.

And yeah, more support for the fact that the rebate offer will not work with the xbox bundle. Our xbox rep told us so just the other night... there's a list of UPC numbers on the rebate form and the bundle isn't one of em. But you still get the Lance Bass DVD at KB Toys!

I finally bought my Xbox bundle! I printed out Target's weekly ad page showing the free (mad catz controller) with the Xbox LE purchase.

I took the ad to a BB last nite and they pretty much blew me off after they got tited of waiting on hold with Target to verify the extra controllers were in stock. That BB said they only match prices NOT extras.

Today I went to another BB and they gave me a free Microsoft Contoller-S with the LE bundle, plus I got 5 bucks off the Hi-Def pack.

Woo hoo!

ok, big news... maybe.

i sent in the rebate form w/ the xbox limited edition bundle + the dvd remote to microsoft anyway and got the rebate check today. so send it in! you may get lucky!

so despite what the microsoft rebate center guy told me over the phone, they're honoring the rebate (maybe they decided it wasn't worth the hassle?)

Your Mileage May Vary

Hi!

Just wanted to let you know that I also received the Microsoft rebate check ($30) for buying the DVD kit and the XBOX bundle (the one with the 2 games and the type s controller). My xbox bundle didn't have the correct sku, but I thought I would try anyways. Lucky I did!

So I don't know if that was a mistake by the person processing it at Microsoft or maybe they changed their policy?

If it's not too late, you might want to go ahead and send it in!
