Xbox Bundle Deals

With the bundle (Xbox console, Controller S, Jet Set Radio Future & Sega GT for $199 +tax) coming out today, it seems that every retailer has their own little something extra to sweeten the deal. This is my attempt to consolidate said deals. Please post any additions/corrections.

DVD Movie Playback Kit $30 Rebate Offer - According to the Microsoft Rebate Center, the rebate does not work with the new bundle.

According to the Microsoft rebate center, if the SKU is F23-00107 then the console is eligible for the rebate. evenflowddt has purchased one of the new bundles, and this is indeeed the SKU, so the rebate should work with the new bundle. Note that the remote and the console do not necessarily have to be purchased at the same time. Link to the rebate form.

<HR WIDTH="90%" >
Buy.com
  • Purchase the bundle with $15 off and free shipping (for a total of $184.99). Here is the link, then search for "xbox console sega" (coupon expires 10/25)
Electronics Boutique (deals may vary by location)
  • Buy the bundle and any Xbox game and receive $30 through a MIR. It is unclear whether or not the game has to be over $30, but in the fine print it says you receive "up to $30," so decide for yourself. The rebate form is the same for the old deal (console + DVD remote + 2 games).
  • Buy the bundle and one of eight games (halo, blinx, nfl fever 2003, quantum redshift, rallisport challenge, oddworld munche's oddysee, project gotham racing, amped.) and receive a $30 rebate. I guess this is a subset of the above deal. Given that the rebate form is the same either way, I would guess that you're safe buying any game you want.
Target
  • Buy the bundle and receive a free Mad Catz controller. (starts Sunday)
  • Applying for a Target card will net you 10% off your purchase, for a total of $179 pre-tax.
Gamestop/Babbages/Software Etc
  • Purchase the console, two games at $49.99 each, and an accessory at $19.99 or more, and receive a $50 rebate. (unconfirmed if this works with the bundle)
Costco
  • $240 for the bundle, an extra Controller S, and the DVD remote
Best Buy
  • Purchase the bundle and receive 25% off any Xbox accessory
KB Toys
  • Buy the Xbox bundle and get a FREE "On the Line" DVD, starring heart throb Lance Bass

<HR WIDTH="90%" >

Thanks to Shuki, diacritic, Tamrok, et al for this info

Thanks! Now the question.... do I go with an extra controller right away, or go for PGR, or Rallisport.....

The EB deal sounds SWEET!!! For $200, I get X Box, S Controller, and 3! Free games, all of which are very good.

BTW, which of the 3 free from EB should I get? I'm thinking about Rallisport since PGR is similar to Sega GT 2002 and I usually play by myself so Fusion Frenzy is worthless. Is Rallisport good?

I'm reading some reviews right now too..... I'll let you know my thoughts soon.

EDIT:

Damn. Not sure now. Both look pretty cool, but I think I might hit the Rally racer, it's more aradey, and not as much a sim. PLus the graphics looks pretty sweet. EB, here I come.

I phoned my EB and they said this deal was not true.

Has anybody confirmed this deal is real?

I was just about to post that you should call ahead first. I was physically in an EB today that had posters for this deal, but I just called another one and they had no idea what I was talking about.

The EB deal might be a regional thing then.

I might be out of luck.

Well, these two stores are within 15 miles of each other, so I doubt it's regonal per se. Hopefully more people will report in.

Umm, not sure, but doesn't this Buy.com $15 off coupon end tonight at midnight? I think so.

Also, it still takes off the $15 even though it's $199.

WTF, I just got back from EB. The guy didn't know squat about the free game. He told me if there is a free game and he didn't know about it, I can just come back with my receipt and get the game.

Mike - That's what the DVD Talk link says, but according to Buy.com it expires on the 25th.

evenflowddt - Sorry about that, you left right before I called to check and see if other EB's were running the deal. For the record, it was an official posterboard thing, not some homebrew sign for just that one store, so more stores should be running it soon.

Eb had a kinda cool deal where I was. Trade in any 2 xbox games and get pretty much any of the new hot games for free. I can only remember a couple:Halo, Need for Speed, NBA 2k3, Dead to Rights, LotR, TerminatoroF.

ok I think I have a EB barcode over the MS number. Anyway, the two games are in on one disc and there are both instruction booklets inside the case. The disc itself contains the two full Sega games and videos for Blinx, Buffy, Mech Assault, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Shenmue II, Transworld Snow, and X Box Live.

A lot of EB deals seem to be up to the individual store managers.

For instance, the local EB here didn't do the trade any two non-excluded GC, PS2 or X-box games and get Mario Sunshine free deal.

As an aside, mine also had a deal going where you buy the old system with two games and get $30 back, I think in the form of a rebate. The Babbstop Etc deal is better in that case.

Edit: evenflowddt - any chance you can get the EB tag off the UPC?

I called my local Tarzhay in Owings Mills, MD. I asked the electronics specialist if the bundle came with an extra controller.

He started "reading" the contents on the box and read out to me, "It come with controllers ", but I'm 99.999% sure he meant "Controller S".

Depending on your Sales Tax rate in your state the BUY.com offer may be the best alternative. For me $15 off plus a sales tax savings of $14 is $29. Also, ******.com gives you another 2% back. In addition they have the controller S for $24.99.

All the games EB gives away can be had for $19.99. The Target option is good if you do not have sales tax. And I would bet the extra controller is a piece of junk they picked.
