PvE is less stressful but once you hit 50 you wish you could kill the people 25 levels lower than you while riding around.

Is changing to a PvE server til like 50 and then changing to a PvP server again allowed? I doubt it, but I was curious.

The only thing that is making me want to stay on PvP is the fact that I have a hell of alot of vengeance to deal out when I do reach at least say level 40. I know I'll most likely not see the people that killed me before, but I'll be looking.

Stick with it. You'll learn to brush off mindless ganking soon. Are you horde? This stuff happens to them ALL THE TIME in Hillsbrad because they start that zone at level 20. Once you hit your higher levels though, PVP is where it's at.. this is assuming you're into PVP though. I could never see myself on a PVE server since I'd lose interest in the game really quick. From time to time, I'd run my mage into the middle of Lakeshire and blow some people up. Just for giggles.

Canadian Bacon, don't look too much into BoE epic drops. I'd recommend you just focus on just moving along in the game rather than grinding for that epic.. or even attempting to buy one for that matter. It's really overpriced for what it is. If you get an epic drop, I'd suggest you sell it rather than using it. There's only a few that I'd use if it dropped for me. That'd be the Glowing Brightwood Staff and Krol Blade if I was a rogue. Staff of Jordan is easily replaceable in Zul'Furrak. It's called something something's Vexxing Cane.

You could just look at it one way. Gear in your 20's, 30's, 40's, and lower 50's is easily replaceable. But, 500+g isn't.

Anyone having trouble logging on? I hang at Authenticating for 5 mins, then handshaking for another 3, then connected for a few, and then finally disconnected. This has been going on for 30 mins now.

I would be pretty surprized if the patch was today. its usually a couple weeks after the test servers start that they release it.

Yeah, combined with the fact that no one has been able to test Zul'Gurub due to crashes on the test server, I'd say the soonest we get the patch will be in 2 weeks.

I got my first epic drop this weekend, in fact it was the Staff of Jordan. It was a very nice staff but doesn't serve me any purpose as a rogue so I sold it at the AH. I would have loved to get 600G for it, but it went through three auctions before it finally sold at 125G which was still great since it was free for me, well minus the couple gold deposits. When it was at the AH I got several whispers from people who wanted to trade, offer a lower price, etc. I was actually glad when it sold.

I also got my mount this weekend, which makes the game just that much better in my opinion. I'm going to take advantage of being the top dog at BG until I level to 41

I was reading gamepots best easter eggs of all times... did anyone know about this one?

Blizzard's great Easter egg tradition continues in World of Warcraft in a number of different ways. But one of the more rewarding is the Alliance-specific chicken quest. This egg incorporates a little bit of everything, such as annoying the people around you, actual work, and humor. To unlock the quest, called C-L-U-C-K, you simply need to type "/chicken" to any of the game's chickens a lot. And by a lot, we mean, a lot. Somewhere around 60 times (hence the annoying other people part), the chicken will look at you quizzically, and you'll be able to speak to it and receive the quest. Your next task is to buy the chicken a bag of special feed, "/cheer" at it, and then pick up your present: a pet chicken that will follow you to the ends of Azeroth. It's actually quite simple, but it's still not that widely known about, so you can easily get yourself a little treat that will amaze your friends and enemies alike.

I did the cluck quest monday night. best thing to do is set up a macro button for /chicken. then you just hit it a bunch (like 20-30 times). you have to accept the quest fast or else you have to do the /chicken thing again. You get an egg and 5 exp. it is repeatable but the eggs are soulbound and only sell for 2copper and you can use one egg at a time.
fun thing to do it wait til you see some one starting to do this then go and start shooting the chickens. people will love you for it.

A friend tried that, but he kept using /taunt since it's the same emote, and of course he is Horde so it didn't work out too well.

I'm up to level 36 now on my Tauren Hunter, but the PvP thing is still getting to me. It's like I dodn't want to go questing at all in some places (read Hilsbrand and Stranglethorn Vale) because it's an Alliance gank fest. There is never any high level Horde to help me out, and sometimes when I ask for help, people are like "stop whining" "stfu" etc. Keep in mind these insults are coming from my Horde "brothers and sisters"

I would be in my 40's on a PvE server by now. I am seriously thinking of joining one. A few questions:

1. I know I asked before, but Is there a way to go to a PvE server or is Blizzard just allowing transfers every so often?

2. If I did join a PvE server, which has the most DVD talkers on it? I could use a small "weclome package" of 50 silver or so to get me up and running, along with a couple of 10 slot bags.

3. Should I start another Hunter, or go with a new class? I really like being a hunter, but thought of a warlock as well. Something with a pet/minion, mainly.

4. Should I buy the WoW guide for $25? It seems cool but how up to date is it, and also, is it worth it considering that looking up a quest is just a tap of the start button away?

I only have 21g, so I am also feeling the pain. I'll probably start another character on another server and play my PvP character from time to time.

Well if any horde want to convert the server on pvp (may need to restart your char) I am on bonechewer and have my own Guild named Chaos Effect. I help out my guild with quests, and money sometimes if they need it. The guild is mostly people i know irl but i need some more good people to join. Remember Bonechewer, Horde side. We want YOU =D pm me if you want to join so i can invite you ingame. There is also usually someone there at all times
thanks

Grats on getting 36!

You're going to need around 95 gold at level 40 in order to get your mount and training. Good luck with that.

To answer your questions.....

1) Blizzard hasn't done any PvE --> PvP transfers as of yet, at least none that I know of. They have done several transfers to help balance out the population and lower the pop. on some of the larger servers but thats been PvP-->PvP and PvE-->PvE.

2) Don't know which server most of the people here are on but I play on Uther/Alliance. Whats nice is, on the PvE servers you can make both Horde/Alliance characters. Anyways, if you're interested in playing Alliance I could hook you up with a few gold and some 14 slot bags. My main is Blaskar...so if you decide to switch then send me a tell.

3) Hunters are a good solo class and if thats your style then I would stick with it. Hunters are getting a bit of a overhaul with the next patch and its mainly for the better. Their pets will be improved and they should perform better in PvP. If you're interested in doing raids when you get around 55-60 then you'd be better off playing a class that'll get you those groups. Priests, Druids, Warlocks and Mages are all classes that raid groups look for. Ultimately its up to you. Don't play a class you don't like just because it will get you groups, play a class that you'll have the most fun with.

4) The guide was good when the game first came out but a majority of it is out of date now because of the changes to quests, classes, racial abilities, professions, etc.. I wouldn't waste your money. Like Canadian said, Thottbot is your friend...use it.

Are you still using the default User interface(UI)? If so, you might want to consider changing it. There are a lot of mods and compilations available that help make playing the game a whole lot easier. I use the Insomniax compilation which you can find at Curse Gaming. Check it out.

I am using a few different mods. Auctionner, scrolling combat text, pet feeder, titan panel, and a few others.

Not sure I'd want to play an alliance character, although a Night Elf Hunter or Dwarf Hunter may be cool. If I was alliance, could I group with horde members? I take it horde and alliance can't enter each others towns w/o having the guards on their butts? Kind of like EQ, where you could group with a Iksar or a Dark Elf, but try and go to their cities, and you're KOS.
