I am not a Nintendo fan (or a fan of Japanese games in general), so I have no plans to get a Wii. Red Steel is the only Wii game shown so far that I have any interest in playing, and I don't buy a console for just one game.

I will probably be getting one, although unlikely at launch. I like to wait until there are a few games I just must have.

If one of the next gen gets left out, it will probably be XBox 360 since (as an RPG fan) my old XBox has far and away the fewest exclusive games that interest me, and 360 is shaping up the same way.

I have a feeling that is to get people into the system. Simple and intuitive, a learning tool if you will. If that is the case I could see it as a pack in game just to get people used to the controller. From what I read it is just the right nunchuck and uses no buttons. Doesn't get any simpler than that. Plus, I imagine some people can get into the tennis. If you had to control the running I could forsee lawsuits from people diving over coffee tables.

I'll be getting one once I can get the console, two controllers (with nuncuk), and a game for an acceptable price.

Wii, being the only console I can afford, I am definitely getting it. But the awesome games, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid, and the virtual console with the huge backlog of classic games had me sold already.

That's only one game's control scheme. I don't think it is fair to even worry, let alone assume, other games would control that way unintentionally. This game is meant to be simple so anyone can pick it up and play.

Following these remarks about Madden from IGN my worries have been put to ease:
We can't express enough how much fun the control scheme was; We were elated to put ourselves in the place of the quarterback, only to snap the ball and throw the passes by ourselves. Even the most hardened Madden fans will find something to love with the Nintendo Wii's control scheme.

All in all, we would say that is one of our favorite games that we have played so far on the Nintendo floor. The gameplay is slick and makes you feel as if you are really playing the game. We know we can't wait to play this game around our office, and we are sure that once you put your hands on the game, you will feel the same way. Simply put, Madden '07 embodies Nintendo's Wii's catchphrase: playing = believing.

After the sad Gamecube support, I'm not getting screwed into buying a Nintendo system at launch again. I've barely touched my GC in like 18months.

If I get one at all it'll be when it's $99 and comes with a game or something. By that time there should be plenty of games, and no more glorified tech demos.

Also, the graphics of the Wii look just like the GC and that just doesn't cut it now that I'm used to my 360.

I voted for the second option.

I sold out to Microsoft after N64 (and a few years of only PC gaming). But I am absolutely buying this console, it looks like a ton of fun.

Oh... and I can't wait for a Wii baseball game.

There is a simple baseball game included with that tennis game they showed. Probably not what you are looking for, but definitely a start.

At a guess, I am guessing the console will come with one wiimote, one VC controller, and no games. It has flash memory, so no need for an external memory cartridge. Even if it came with two games, there's no way it would be $200. The games will stay at $50. So suppose the console was $200, and you didn't need a second wiimote, you're looking at $300 for a console and two games.

P.S. I was hyped about the system when I saw the controller for the first time. Now I am positively beside myself.

Ya I just saw that (I had seen the Tennis stuff, but just saw the baseball thing now). I'd definately love an MLB-themed baseball game (or even MVP NCAA). This sports game looks pretty sweet though. I hope it's boxed with the Wii.

I don't really know how to vote on this poll. I am a Nintendo guy I guess, but I have owned all 3 systems in the past 2 generations. I have been excited since hearing about the concept, and I am pretty much a guaranteed buy at launch unless I start to hear troubling reports on the controller being very frustrating to use.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually might buy Madden if the control is fun, but I want to see how they implement maximum passing (I know that's a 2k naming scheme, but I don't know what Madden calls it).

I don't like what they are saying about how the tennis game controls, but we'll see what happens with that. I would want to control movement with the analog and swings with the remote. I was a little disappointed that in the golf game you still choose aiming with the d-pad, and the controller action only determines power. I want it to control aiming and everything.

I guess what I'm saying is that I really want to get the damn system in my hands and try it out for myself.

I was always planning on purchasing, but E3 made me even more excited and convinced. I've had every Nintendo since the NES except the Super Nintendo.

Always been a Nintendo man, the new, innovative ways to play games with the new controller, and the virtual console have got me really excited
I hope SM Galaxy will be more like classic Mario games/SM64 than Sunshine was. I liked Sunshine but that Fludd thing was just annoying.

I was always buying a wii, and was going to decide between a ps3 and 360 as a second console. i am going to get a 360 after sony showed me no online capabilites at e3.

I am more excited about the wii than i have been about any console since the SNES/genesis generation (which is still the best generation IMO). although if wii starts to get a lot of 3rd party support, this generation could surpass it.

I will be getting a Wii at launch. Since the true PS3 system will be $600, I'll be getting that last. My 360 will do fine for my HD gaming. I just wished the Wii supported HD.

I chose the option "Undecided / Still awaiting a price and release date"

I'll most likely get one, as the few games I've seen look impressive and the controller is nice. Nintendo did have some fun games. But I'm waiting for a price announcement. I probably won't get on on launch day, but will down the road.

I own all 3 last gen systems, Xbox, PS2 and GameCube. Own a DS and a PSP. So, I'm by no means a fanboy or biased to one system. True, the XBox is 95% of my gaming. But I did like some games.

As it stands right now, I won't be getting a PS3.

So, my ideal vote choice would have been "Getting one eventually, but not at launch time"

That choice was missing from the poll.

Lack of games is why I didn't buy the Gamecube. I think "Lack of games" has been a criticism of Nintendo since at least the SNES days. Of course, more games doesn't mean more quality.

I am just as excited for the Wii as I am for the fact that I am getting a "Gamecube" as well. There's a lot of games that I want to play that I did not want to buy a console for.
