Maybe once the game is out everyone will have the actual game to talk about. Making it a system issue is lame.

And to add...the joke here isn't that this guy thinks that GoW3 deserves a 10, it's that he thinks ANYTHING less than a 10 is bias journalism. As if somebody looks at IGN giving it a 9.3 and would then completely discount the game. It's idiotic. Fighting about scores is bad enough, but fighting about a good score that isn't "good enough" is absolutely retarded.

The reason the video is funny has nothing to do with some sort of conspiracy of 360 users. It's funny primarily for two reasons:

1. The presentation (which I'm fairly certain is an act)

2. The tired old "PS3 rally" call, where if a game is a potential system seller, PS3 owners and reviewers need to present a united front of 10/10 perfection so as to help convince people to buy the console. We saw the exact same thing this time last year with Killzone 2.

I don't personally get funny from the video...just stupid. Maybe I didn't get to the funny parts. I forget who lasted 2 minutes, but I think they beat me out.

When the Gamecube was in third place the same thing happened with Mario Sunshine. Even though it was a good game, pressure was on reviewers and fans to rate it highly in order to encourage sales of the console.

I haven't checked the NPDs lately, but isn't the PS3 selling just fine these days? At any rate, I know it's getting harder to find one.

And I get more "pressure" (or perhaps just ridicule) from the other end of the spectrum. I figure any minute, somebody will post that chalkboard of games that will "save the PS3" with GoW3 lined out.

I have this pre-ordered from Amazon. Yesterday I got a $10 off $50 purchase at TRU in the mail. Now I'm torn between Amazon with their $10 future credit and TRU with their $20 gift card deal. This coupon seems to have tipped the scale, but I wonder if it's worth the risk.

The only thing I worry about is cancelling the Amazon order and going to TRU at 10am just to find they didn't get their shipment or dsa_shea beat me there and bought them all.

Also, TRU's $20 gift card is always more useful that Amazon's $10 video-game-only credit. I just wish I knew the expiration dates of each deal.

What would you do in my shoes?

Tax on $60 is what...$5 or so...plus gas, plus your time, plus dealing with TRU.

No other game that I remember had someone like the hip hop gamer say something as profound as a game "deserves a 10 not bias journalism".

And to reiterate, I have no bias to one console over another. (except the Wii, that can suck it) I use both pretty much equally as of late - depends on which exclusive game I'm playing at the time.

Yeah, I figured all that. But I have to go out for Princess and the Frog anyway and the girls will be on Spring Break so a lunch trip to TRU wouldn't break the bank.

I was thinking about this too. Are we getting double-taxed on the gift card or is it tax exempt at point-of-sale?

Other places don't charge tax on the gift card, but I can't remember for sure at TRU.

Around here you don't pay tax when you buy the gift card, but when you use it on a purchase tax is included.

Should be $53.40 out the door for me (8.517% tax and a $10 (after tax) coupon) and I have $20 that can be used on anything instead of just $10 that can only be used on VGs at Amazon.

This is how it works everywhere, I think, so that $20 card is more like $18.20.

So by that math, you're looking at:

Amazon = $55 - $10 = $45
TRU = $65 - $18 = $47

I'm assuming base prices of $55ish at Amazon and $59.99 at TRU, but you get the idea.
