re: The last video game you bought (that you’re actually going to play)

I just bought a system (PS3) and am a newbie in every sense of the word. That being said, I did pick up several titles that looked interesting to me. If you have any recommendations or tips for someone just starting out, let me know. I'm clueless but loving it even though I am beyond terrible at all of these now!

Aliens vs. Predator
Assassins Creed
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Crysis 2
Prison Break: The Conspiracy
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Tomorrow I plan to pick up:

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Resident Evil 5
something else with my coupon

Any suggestions for a beginner is appreciated!!

Picked up the last copy of The Sly Cooper Collection from Target on clearance. Never played any of them but they look like they could be fun.

L.A. Noire was the last game I bought, and I got inFAMOUS, Super Stardust HD, Wipeout HD, and Dead Nation with the Sony Welcome Back program.

If you still have it sealed return Prison Break: The Conspiracy. It's critically panned game that looks like a typical tie in game.

I kinda figured - didn't really know any better but liked the show so thought it might be decent. Oh well, I can always trade it later.

Just picked up these:

Batman: Arkham Asylum
God of War III
Red Dead Redemption

With the others I bought last week, this should keep me busy for a while!

I picked up a used copy of Shadow of Destiny for the PS2 a few weeks back. I've always been meaning to get and play it. Such a great game, very atmospheric, freaky as hell too.

Black Ops(360)
Crysis 2(360)
Full House Poker(arcade)

I am pretty much addicted to Black ops right now, so I really haven't played the other two much at all. I am hoping I am not going to be lost in Crysis 2, I never played the first one, I am pretty much a "console only" gamer.

I believe it was Kingdoms of Amalur thanks to the Best Buy Gamer Coupon...actually I'm a liar...Bejeweled 3 was $10 at Gamestop recently. Yeah...how could I forget that addicting little piece of software? (or maybe that's therapy)

Anyone think there'd be interest in a "2012 DVD/BR Spending Tab" here...but for videogames?
