I love this game so much. I'm taking my time with it, and it plays so well. I never get frustrated with it.

Just finished up. Awesome game. Outside of Red Dead Redemption it might be my favorite open world game. Took me about 28 hours altogether. I didn't quite 100% it because I gave up on the races. I decided not to keep trying because the game was so good I didn't want to get fustrated and remember it for that. I was actually kind of sad when the last mission was over, it was such a fun ride. I don't imagine there is any hope for a sequel.

I finished the Platinum for this one on Tuesday and it took me about 33 hours total. The game was awesome but the worst part were the cock fights. Most of the races were fairly easy to win and I never really felt overwhelmed or helpless during most of the fisticuffs or shootouts. It was an all around kick ass game and I hope they make another game like it in the near future.

I would actually like to hear from Nausicaa to see if it has grown on him like he thought it might. I say this because I can see myself sharing the exact thoughts about the game.
GTA IV still to this day has umatchable ambeince graphics-wise and while a lot of people complain about the driving...It's the most realistic ever in a sandbox game.
But I may end up just buying this as I am constantly hearing that the main story missions are just fantastic (even better than Rockstar's story missions) so that alone is worth a purchase I guess.
I just love the extras to do in a sandbox world and I am not sure if this one will delviery...however, maybe with the soon to be released DLC there may be more?

Well no mission matches the brilliance that is the bank robbery in GTA4...but this is still my favorite game of the year....

True...that three leaf clover mission is pretty much unbeatable...even if you don't think it was masterfully done...the way the game handles the situation is.

While I liked the bank robbery mission in GTA4 the terrible checkpoints turned me off since it was a long mission.
To me Sleeping Dogs beats GTA in almost every way. Great game. My game of the year so far.

I stand by my initial comments that the game doesn't 'feel' close to as good as GTA IV. But I was enjoying the story missions. I would say try and catch it on sale. I don't think it was worth $60, especially with GTA V probably getting a release in 6 months.
Not a bad game, but not a great game. I still play GTA IV almost four years after release now. This game doesn't have that kind of longevity for me as the main draw is the story, not playing around in the game world.

I don't know - and this probably doesn't come accross as a strong endorsement - because I stopped playing it after 10 - 20 hours. It's not that I didn't like it, but I lost interest and got distracted by other games.

If you still needed this for PC, it can be had for just over $18 today on Amazon.
They pricematched Steam's $24.99, and you can use SQRLUVOC to get an additional 20% off.

I said the hell with it and decided to go out an buy this today....Must be my lucky day as there is a temprary price cut a Target for this game - your cost: $44.00.
I seriously would paid 60 bucks just to support these guys. I DL the demo and thought it was awesome...while the demo doesn't let you free roam...the graphics were nice....can't wait to start playing soon.

The dlc is worth picking up. 1 hour long if you just do the main story...2 hours if you do the side missions and 3 if you also do all the challenges.

I beat this game about a week or so ago - and yes, those last two missions were awesome.
But, I just literally stopped playing shortly there after....the graphics are excellent (clouds moving) and you can see what this team really wanted to achieve until Activision dumped them - I mean, I can't say for sure because I don't know what I'm talking about really but they way I see it.....Activision would never fork over the funds it takes to create a Rockstar caliber title - NEVER.
But United Front did an excellent job regardless. The sountrack is great and voice acting is pretty good as well.
The fighting is pretty repititive but still fun (but you are such a chump at the beginning of the game).
The DLC is pretty much a waste - the cops jobs were boring but that zmobie DLC looks decent.
All in all a great playthrough but I will probably get rid of it.

That sounds about exciting as Mad Moxxie's arena battles from Borderlands 1. If it were part of a new DLC package then I might be interested but being as it is just about fighting then I'll likely pass.

Well, I decided to keep this as I can't get enough of exploring Hong Kong (don't give me too much shit either, I almost got rid of GTA IV shortly after beating it as well) this game is just too easy to put on and start having fun with.
Stingermck - that statement of yours is a bit much - you do realize how heavily this game has borrowed from GTA don't you? I mean, If I got into specifics it would be too much. United Front obviously LOVES Rockstar games and are sandbox junkies in full as well.
One thing I forgot to mention as well on my first post after having played the game in full...this is what I had hoped Saints Row 3 would turn out to be and man was I so dissapointed by that game as it doesn't even come close to being as good as sleeping dogs are any GTA game.
