Really excited about the Rayman news. I really didn't want to buy a system to play a handful of exclusives. Hopefully they can do the same with Bayonetta 2.

Nintendo's the publisher for that one, so don't hold your breath.

re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

This is alright news for me, I'm dirt broke and can use a little cash back. Thinking I can sell now and buy back when some titles come out. And that means yes, I was quite literally waiting on Rayman Legends as a reason to keep owning the system.

It's a cool system, but I can't help but feel Nintendo rushed it and didn't really think it out as well as they should have. It will be a great system once they get all the kinks worked out.

I wish they'd just release all the NES and SNES classics on a hand-held... then I wouldn't need a Wii U.

I'm pretty sure it got pushed to September to be closer to holiday season - I'm just bummed that it's coming out so close to so many other games, like the next GTA, which also got bumped to Sept.

Pretty lame to delay the Wii U version another 6 months,

Oh well. I'll probably skip this come September now.

What's the advantage of the Wii U Pro controller? Is that just for if you don't feel like using the Wii Pad or something?

Doubt it will accomplish anything, but I'm in.

I specifically mentioned I was down for full price in Feb. but coming out during the busy game season means I'll wait for a used copy or $20 price point.

For me, Rayman's release is the difference between buying a U now or WAY later.

Well at least I can, uh, queue up shows on Hulu while watching a show at the same time. Totally worth it, right?

It provides you with a second controller that will almost certainly be cheaper than buying another GamePad when you can do so. Also, my initial impression is that it's more comfortable to use since it's not so big. However, I don't know how big of a deal the latter is, since you're going to have to use the GamePad for many games anyway and will get accustomed to its size.

BTW, I thought I was nitpicky about consoles. My brother just a Wii U (the black model) and isn't completely happy because the disc slot disappears in the room lighting - I mean, the console looks like it's solid black. He's thinking about getting an LED light to put in his cabinet so it will reflect off the slot and make it visible.

The advantage is looking more ergonomic than the Dual Shock. Double advantage, you never have to remove it from the box keeping it's value intact.

Joking aside? It supposedly has an 80 hour battery life.

Googling it, it actually appears like a few big games do support it like BLOPS2, ACIII, Need for Speed, Madden, Darksiders & Balloon Fight.

Canceled by Amazon preorder for this. I won't care in September when Zelda HD comes out.

Watch all of our bitching turn to jubilation when Microsoft and Sony announce all used games are blocked on their new consoles.

Silver Linings: Bye bye Gamestop in that case.

Because having less outlets to buy games from is a good thing?

Gamestop has its fair share of problems... but when they offer the 50% additional trade-in credit, it's about the best thing going for those of us that trade in. That said, I'd never pay full price for a game there w/out having credit to offset the cost.

I always had better luck during Best Buy's 50% trade-in deals. But yeah that's all understandable.

Best Buy's 100% trade-in deals are usually worth waiting and watching for. Over the last year, I've traded in a handful games for the same or more than I paid for them. Normally, it seems I can at least get back half of what I paid.
