so i've started to play with the Elite controller, Halo 4. it really seems to make a difference. the underneath triggers are not just for show, but they are rather useful. melee, switch weapons, jump. it does take some time to get used to i ain't gonna lie, but once you do you have a whole new way of gaming. it really is cool...

Anyone having problems with the 360 games on XB1? I've been playing Toy Soldiers from XBLA and have had it crash on me at least 3 or 4 times on me now. It's getting pretty annoying.

http://news.xbox.com/2016/01/04/grea...tends-to-2016/

A bunch of random PR spin and numbers praising themselves, but a look at release windows and dates for 2016.

Here’s a snapshot of the 2016 exclusive titles we’ve announced so far from Microsoft Studios and our first-party partners that we’ll ship on Xbox One, Windows 10 and in some cases, both. Gears of War 4 (Xbox One) – Multiplayer Beta in Spring 2016/Launch in Fall 2016
Quantum Break (Xbox One) – April 5, 2016
Halo Wars 2 (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Fall 2016
Crackdown 3 (Xbox One) – Multiplayer in Summer 2016
Fable Legends Open Beta (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Spring 2016
ReCore (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
Sea of Thieves (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
Gigantic (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
Killer Instinct: Season 3 (Xbox One & Windows 10) – March 2016
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (Windows 10) – Spring 2016
Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Spring 2016
Cobalt (Xbox One, Xbox 360 & Steam) – Feb. 2, 2016

I had Viva Pinata crash on me. also DiRT Showdown crashed a couple times. It seemed to be when the game was trying to save.

anyone else have one of the USB OTA tuners for your xbox one? I have one and it works on the xbox but i cant get the tv shows to stream to my phone using the SmartGlass app. Where there should be the channel selection on SmartGlass, there is text saying "Set up your Xbox for streaming at Settings->One Guide->Tv/cable box" or something like that. But under settings there is no exact path like that. Also, all the tv stuff works on the xbox so its already set up.
I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem or maybe heard of it. I couldnt find anything on google about it

Crackdown 3 multiplayer? Surely they aren't going to go without being able to play solo. Haven't devs learned this by now?

It's the same not-entirely-clear thing they talked about this past summer.
Microsoft has clarified that it's not the entirety of Crackdown 3 that will be available during summer 2016, as Dave Jones seemed to suggest. Instead, it's just multiplayer that will be playable in that window, according to a tweet. Whether that means a beta test or something else remains unclear, but we've followed up to find out more.
As for that tweet from @crackdown:
Had a blast showing #Crackdown3 this week! Can't wait for you to jump into MP in summer ’16 - will share more on full game’s release soon.

It actually announced back in August that the multiplayer would be released first:
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/cra.../1100-6429544/

However, there seems to be some confusion whether or not this multiplayer summer 2016 release is a "beta" or not. This Reddit thread claims that during the gamescom press conference it was announced as a beta:

Nothing wrong with multiplayer only games, in my opinion. Nor anything to "learn" in that regard for developers, since there's plenty of successful multiplayer only games. (Even if that's not the case for Crackdown, as others have already mentioned).

Can someone give me a quick dummy answer to how friends work on the Xbox One now? I haven't really added anymore since I got an X1 and mine just transferred over from my Xbox 360. But my son wants to add friends to his and when I or he types them in, there doesn't appear to be a "friend request" sent anymore.

Are you just following someone like Twitter now? Can people follow you without you knowing it or without permission? Do the people you follow show up on your leaderboards? Do I show up on theirs? I am confused over how this works now.

Jeez. So I am going to assume no one here knows exactly how it works now.

I am reasonably sure it is like Twitter now because I have had folks follow me without me approving/disproving.

People just follow you. You have no say so in the matter and it rarely informs you that you have new followers. If you then follow them back, you are friends.

I haven't added anyone in awhile and tried it just now, but it seemed simple to me. I searched for a a friend's Gamer Tag and had the option to add friend.

So since now it is a twitter type thing, how do the leaderboards work? Do your local/"friends" leaderboards score's only show up when you are following each other or just when you follow someone?

It's an immediate 'no sale' from me if they make that choice, which is fine... but I'd rather know as soon as possible so I don't waste my time reading about a game only for the developer's to 'fess up' at the last minute. My personal issue is when the developers refuse to give a straight answer on the subject, or insist it's not MP only when the single player experience is limited to a hobbled special mode that offers a fraction of the overall experience.

It's a Crackdown game, multiplayer or not, no way I'm preordering it until I see some reviews and personal opinions here about the game. Fool me once...

Is there though? Should I point out Evolve, which was poised to be some huge multiplayer only game, now, it retails for $15, on sale at GS for $9, and it's a community is a ghost town. A vast majority of multiplayer-only games have a very short shelf-life.

Depends on the game. Star Wars Battlefront is one you could call a success.
