Cobalt is free in the Japanese Xbox store. I believe you have to be Gold.

I think the UI should have been more in line with the browser version, though. Apparently, you CAN control it with your phone's app, so there's that.

I hate the X1 dash. Probably the worst since the 360 launched. Needless to say, I'm down for anything different at this point.

When I first clicked it got partway thru and then had the ad takeover pop up. I thought you had video captured that and were making double commentary.

And it's now up. I checked it out last night. It works. It seems identical to the PS4 app, which is okay, but different enough from the other Spotify layouts that it might take some effort to get used to it. You can always fall back on the phone app to pick and choose your music, then play it.
Ugh, yeah. The main home screen / dashboard is pretty terrible. I don't mind the improvements to the sidebar, though.
But if it's FAST, I'll take it. Even on my Xbox One S, the current home screen lags all the damn time. Is this because I have too much stuff on the hard drive? Or because I have a second hard drive plugged in? Or is it this bad for everyone?
MS should have fixed that stuff a long time ago.

My favorite use of the application? My running gag in both Sherlock Holmes game -- Whenever Sherlock Holmes returns to his flat to do research, test evidence or change his outfit, this plays in the background on a loop :

that's awesomeSo, I kind of forgot that I was in the "alpha" group...
Booted up my Xbox and was welcomed with the new home screen, since I had auto-updates on.
It's... Not great... But it IS faster. Still lags on the "my games & apps" screen, but not as much as before.

If I start a 360 game on XB1, can I transfer the save and also play on a 360? I know it's possible from XB1 to PC, but didn't know if it worked from XB1 to 360.

Yes, as long as it's a "cloud save". I think the XB1 uses cloud save by default, but on the 360 you may have to explicitly choose the cloud save when loading the game. You'll need to log into the same XBox Live account on both consoles, since the cloud save is tied to your account.
