could someone please help me out? my Xbox One keeps turning on by itself. i did all the troubleshooting measures. reset, turned off instant on, disconnected Kinect, took off auto updating, everything and yet still pops on for no particular reason. please help. thanks in advance.
Check to see if your TV has a setting for HDMI-CEC or something similar to that name - and see if it's ON...if so, turn it OFF. It could also be turning on other devices like a Blu-Ray player.

Thanks. I did check that as well. It’s called Bravia sync on my tv and it is not synced nor does tv turn anything else on.

No, nothing at all changed which is weird and it’s at least a year or 2 old. No hub. No socket change or anything out of ordinary. Just started to happen...

Contact Microsoft support, like I suggested the last time you brought this up. You've obviously exhausted all the options end users know about, aside from doing a full reset of the console. So: full reset or contact support.

Also unplug the Kinect if you still have one plugged in for some reason.
Note that doing a factory reset means having to re-install your games (your saves should be in the cloud, so you're fine), but it's worth doing once in awhile.

There's an option now to work around that: "Reset and keep my games & apps". It clears out all the OS-level stuff while maintaining everything else. I've had to use it on an older XB1 console, and it was a huge timesaver.

i don't know. i set everything back to the way it was, instant on, Kinect, updates auto...hasn't turned on by itself since. i think it's the curse of Anthem myself bc seems to have started after i downloaded that pile of poop, but so far so good...

it's funny, after i unistalled the POS Anthem, my XBOX hasn't turned on by itself since (knock on wood)...

That was the last thing I tried just bc it seemed to have started when I first started playing and so far. Just uninstalled though. Didn’t completely delete.

Those are two pretty mediocre XO titles. On the plus side, at least I never bought them.
I have been unable to "buy" PvZ GW2 with Gold because I already have it via EA Access. Anyone know a work-around for that?
